Our bees have been busy all season and now harvest season is here! Last week our Beekeeper, Anthony, pulled the second box and excluder off the hive to harvest the honey. It has been sent to Denver for processing and labeling.

Our annual Ice Cream Social tenant event was filled with great conversations and plenty of sweet treats. Thank you to all of our tenants who stopped by and made the event so enjoyable. We appreciate being part of such a fantastic community!

Saturday was National Honey Bee Day!

Did you know that bees and other pollinators are responsible for roughly one in every three bites of food we eat? Their work is essential to our food supply and ecosystems.

Our bees have been keeping busy. The colony recently expanded into a second box, and workers are already hard at work filling it out. We can't wait to watch them continue to grow!

Our beekeeper, Anthony, recently stopped by our hive at 325 W. Huron and made an exciting upgrade, adding a second box to the colony! This new upper box will be dedicated exclusively to honey storage, giving our hardworking bees more space to stockpile their sweet honey.

To keep everything organized, he also installed a queen excluder between the two boxes. This simple tool has openings large enough for worker bees to move freely between levels, while keeping the queen in the lower box where she belongs. There, she can continue laying eggs and leading the colony, while the workers focus on filling the upper box with honey.

Every visit brings us one step closer to honey season, and it's fun to watch the hive continue to grow and thrive!
