🐭🚨 The mice won this round, but our community is fighting back! 🚨🐭

Mice chewed through a critical part of the mini split unit on one side of our kennel. That unit keeps our dogs warm through the cold nights and cool in the heat.

💙 A HUGE thank you to Air Heat , who originally donated this mini split unit to our kennel and have now generously donated the repair too! Their support keeps our dogs comfortable year round. Please show them some love and keep them in mind for your own heating and air needs.

Now we need to make sure this doesn't happen again. Our kennel building is old and tired, and the mice keep finding new ways in. Until our new facility is built, we have to keep this one safe and livable for the dogs who depend on it.

Here's what we need:
💵 Donations for sealing the kennel and general upkeep. Goal: $500
🛠️ Handy volunteers to help find and seal the holes where the mice are getting in
📦 Supplies: steel wool, copper mesh, hardware cloth, expanding foam, caulk, and mouse traps (no poisons, please, since we have dogs on site)

Every dollar and every set of hands keeps these dogs safe while they wait for their families. 🐾

We are grateful that cooler temps are on their way this week but while we wait for those temps to actually stick around, here are a few things you can do now to prep your home before we head into the fall season…

🍁 Schedule your fall maintenance check: catching small issues now saves big headaches in January

🔲 Replace your air filter if you have not done so recently

🌡️ Test your heat now: don’t wait until the first cold night to find out something isn’t working

🪟 Check your vents and make sure nothing is blocked by furniture or rugs
