Robert M. Bowen, a native Chicoan, began his career in the swimming pool construction industry in the summer of 1969 while attending Chico State College (CSU, Chico). At that time there were only two gunite pool companies in town and Bob had the opportunity to work full-time in the summers learning the “business” in all phases of the gunite pool trade. By graduation, Bob had fully experienced the pool construction business, and in 1978, co-founded Sunshine Pools of Chico. For the next twenty-two years, Bob built over 350 quality gunite pools, uniquely one pool at a time. In 1999, Bob established Bowen Pools and Renovations and has continued to build swimming pools with his son, Forrest, a Construction Management graduate of CSU, Chico. Whether a new pool or a challenging renovation, Bowen Pools prides itself on building a limited number of pools at a time, thus maximizing the control of quality, while working one-on-one with the customer through the completion of their project. With over 40 years experience and for a “personalized construction experience,” let Bowen Pools be part of your backyard dream.
