As we celebrate our 120th year in business, being recognized by the community where it all began makes this milestone even more meaningful. We’re honored to be named the Springfield Regional Chamber’s 2026 Super 60 Legacy Award winner!

Since 1906, generations of the Collins family and our dedicated employees have helped power Western Massachusetts. Our legacy is built on their hard work, the trust of our customers, and the relationships we’ve formed along the way.

To our team, customers, partners, and community: thank you for being part of our story. After 120 years, we’re proud to keep building it together.

We look forward to celebrating alongside this year’s Super 60 honorees on November 6 at the MassMutual Center.

The Big E may be the most well-known event of the year at the Eastern States Exposition (ESE), but Collins Electric’s work across the grounds in West Springfield continues year-round. As the ESE evolves, so do its electrical needs. Whether supporting agricultural events, horse shows, vendor exhibitions, or other events, we're proud to work with the Eastern States Exposition as a longstanding client and partner to help power the events, improvements, and operations that keep these grounds active year-round.

During fair setup, our team connects vendors with the power needed for refrigeration, lighting, food booths, and overnight RV accommodations. Behind the scenes, Collins Electric also supports the property with:

- 13.8kV medium-voltage infrastructure upgrades
- Transformer and medium-voltage cable replacements
- Underground infrastructure and manhole fit-outs
- Lighting retrofits and controls in the Coliseum, Mallary Complex, and New England Center
- Electrical infrastructure for camper lot expansions
- Panel and main distribution panel testing and replacements
- Transformer oil, substation, and fire alarm testing
- Ongoing electrical and life-safety maintenance

The Big E is here until Oct. 4, and if you ask us, it's the best fair in the country. Grab a cream puff, ride the big yellow slide, and see what powers the fun. We're proud to be part of it.

When it comes to fire alarm systems, reliability isn’t optional.

Collins Electric provides comprehensive fire alarm solutions for facilities of all sizes and complexities: from system design and installation to programming, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and emergency service.

Our NICET-certified technicians can inspect, service, and maintain virtually any fire alarm system, even if it was installed by another contractor. Through our partnerships with Autocall and Keltron Corporation, we also provide industry-leading equipment and monitoring solutions tailored to each building’s needs.

Pictured here are fire alarm installations from two very different projects: the new Holyoke Soldiers’ Home and Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Whether protecting a modern healthcare facility or a historic community landmark, our focus remains the same: delivering a dependable system built to protect people and property.

Electrical Foreman Stan Piskorski Jr. takes us inside Collins Electric’s work on this multi-phase electrification project for PVTA in Springfield.

The project includes a 50,000-square-foot addition to the existing Cottage Street facility, along with a new 3,000-amp service supporting overhead pantograph chargers. This hands-free charging technology will allow electric buses to charge efficiently while off the road.

Our team is currently working throughout the new addition, installing the facility's electrical distribution systems, including branch circuitry, panelboards, and lighting controls. In addition, we're installing the fire alarm system and a complete low voltage infrastructure, including the PA system, security cameras, and door access controls.

We’re proud to help the PVTA expand its service across the Pioneer Valley.

Project Spotlight: Bella Westcott, Electrician at Collins Electric.

When you're working in a building that's been part of the community for generations, every detail matters.

Sacred Heart Parish opened for Mass over 150 years ago in 1874 in the heart of the city of Springfield. Recently, our team completed the installation of a new fire alarm and voice evacuation system designed to improve safety while preserving the beauty and character of this historic space.

This church presented unique challenges, from 65-foot ceilings and limited access points to coordinating work around regular Masses, funerals, and church events. Working closely with Casella Design Associates, Shepherd Engineering, and church staff, we developed solutions that provided comprehensive fire detection and notification while remaining as discreet as possible.
