Pine Tech Community College's second phase of electrical work is approaching completion. The initial phase included constructing an addition to house the Auto Lab, welding lab, and gunsmithing lab, and adding a 2000 amp service. The next phase involves an interior remodel focused on the nursing area. Lakes Area Electric, led by Foreman David J. Henton, played a key role in this substantial project. David J Henton

Very happy with this service change, spent the last 4 hot days changing out this outdated Federal Pacific 2000 Amp service at Dayton Elementary with a new Seimens 480- volt, 2000 amp service.

Last night we had the honor of presenting two scholarships to Jadon Greene and Marcello Cardoni. Both are pursuing careers in the trades. They are making great choice for their futures!

Lakes Area Electric grants two annual scholarships to Chisago Lakes students who wish to pursue a career in the trades. This year's recipients are Gavin Lewis and Dustin Palewicz. We wish them success in their future trade endeavors!

Spent the day teaching Chisago County 4-Hers to build pop can lamps. Jim, David and Chris are excellent teachers! Shout out to the behind the scene helpers Abby and Alex who helped get all the supplies ready! Hope to see some lamps at the fair this summer!

We are just finishing up this new HVAC lab at Hennepin Tech. We installed a new 225KVA transformer and 600 Amp panelboard to feed 30 new furnaces and AC units, new lighting and cord drops. This will make a excellent hands on training for students entering the HVAC program.

We can help, here are a few we completed over MEA break for Anoka Hennepin schools, in the past we have completed over 40 panel retrofits for the district with several more to do. Each year Lakes Area Electric has committed to giving a scholarship to a deserving Chisago Lakes High School senior who would like to get in to the trades. Last night we awarded our scholarship to Ben Klun who will be entering technical school in pursuit of joining the Pipefitters union.
Congrats Ben!
