Happy Labor Day from all of us at Duggin Construction Co., LLC.

Today we take a moment to recognize the men and women who show up every day and do the hard work that most people never see. The ones in the trenches, behind the controls, and out in the elements making sure every job gets done right. Construction is not easy work, and the people who do it deserve to be recognized for the skill, dedication, and grit it takes to do it well.

To our crew, thank you. What you do matters more than you know. Every pipe laid, every grade cut, every utility tied in represents hours of hard work that will serve this community for decades to come. We do not take that lightly, and we do not take you for granted.

From our family to yours, we hope you get to spend today doing exactly what you love with the people who matter most.

Happy Labor Day.

When the ground fights back, we come prepared.

That hydraulic hammer attachment you see on the ground is not something every crew shows up with, but when you are dealing with rock it is exactly what the job calls for. Our Kobelco excavator paired with a hydraulic breaker can bust through ledge rock and hard substrate that would stop a standard dig in its tracks. It is one of the reasons we are able to work on sites that other contractors turn away.

Middle Tennessee is full of beautiful land that comes with one challenge — the rock underneath it. Whether you are putting in a driveway, a septic system, a utility line, or preparing a building pad, rock does not have to be a dealbreaker. We have the equipment and the experience to get through it and get the job done right.

If you have a project on a rocky piece of ground and you are not sure who to call, give Duggin Construction a try. We work close with our clients from start to finish and we do not shy away from the tough ones.

Duggin Construction Co., LLC is proud to be an authorized retailer and installer of the Singulair Green Aerobic Wastewater Treatment System by Norweco.

If you have ever been told your land cannot support a traditional septic system, this may be the solution you have been looking for. The Singulair Green is an aerobic treatment unit, meaning it works differently than a conventional septic tank. Instead of relying solely on gravity and soil absorption, it uses a three-chamber process to treat wastewater to a much higher level before it ever reaches the ground. Pretreatment, aeration, and clarification all happen inside one single compact tank, which makes it ideal for properties where a traditional drainfield simply will not work.

If you have rocky soil, shallow bedrock, or land with poor drainage, a conventional system is often not an option. The Singulair Green was specifically designed for difficult job sites like these. Because the tank is made of high-density polyethylene and weighs less than 1,000 pounds, it can be installed with a backhoe or mini excavator without the need for heavy specialized equipment. That means we can get it in the ground on sites where other systems never could.

Whether you are building a new home on a challenging piece of land or replacing a failing system, we can help you figure out if the Singulair Green is the right fit. Give us a call to learn more.

Stormwater Drainage

Did You Know? A construction site can move hundreds of thousands of gallons of stormwater in a single rain event.

Every development has a stormwater drainage system engineered before the first shovel hits the ground. We install underground pipes, culverts, retention basins, and drainage structures that manage where water goes during and after a storm.

The way we shape the land directly determines where rainwater flows. We grade sites to direct water away from buildings, toward designed drainage features, and off the site in a controlled way — protecting both the project and neighboring properties.

Getting drainage wrong early in a project creates problems that are expensive and disruptive to fix later. That's why our crews work closely with engineers to make sure every pipe, every slope, and every structure is placed exactly where it needs to be.

Water follows the path we create for it. Our job is to make sure that path is the right one.

Mass Grading & Excavation

Did You Know? Before anything gets built, the ground itself has to be engineered.

Mass grading is the process of cutting (removing soil) and filling (adding soil) to reshape raw land into the exact elevations a project needs. Roads, building pads, drainage channels — none of it works without the ground being at the right height first.

One of the goals on any grading job is to balance the cut and fill — meaning the soil we dig out equals the soil we need to add elsewhere on the site. Hauling extra dirt off-site or bringing it in costs time and money, so we plan it carefully from the start.

We don't just dump fill and move on. Soil is placed and compacted in layers — called "lifts" — to build a stable, load-bearing base. Skip that step and the ground settles unevenly under whatever gets built on top of it.

Every road you drive on and every building you walk into started with a grading crew shaping the earth beneath it. That's us.

Underground Utilities

Did You Know? Most of our best work is buried 6 feet underground — and you'll never see it.

Before a single faucet is turned on in a new development, we're underground installing the water mains, service lines, and connections that bring clean water to every building on the site.

Sewer work is all about gravity. We calculate exact slopes and depths to make sure wastewater flows in the right direction every time. A small mistake underground means a big problem above ground.

Conduit, gas mains, and service lines all go in before the site ever gets paved. Once the concrete is down, underground work gets a lot more expensive — that's why we get it right the first time.

The utilities you use every single day started with a crew like ours in a trench. That's the job — and we're proud of it.

This is what efficiency looks like on a rock site.

Our John Deere articulated dump truck is pulling away from the mobile screening plant — loaded with processed aggregate and ready to go right back into the ground. Meanwhile, the conveyor keeps stacking, the crusher keeps running, and the whole operation just keeps moving.

Here's how the rock processing cycle works on our sites:

✅ Our drill rig bores blast holes at engineered spacing
✅ Blasting breaks the rock into manageable pieces
✅ Excavators load the broken rock into our mobile crusher/screener
✅ The plant processes and sizes the material, stacking it by conveyor
✅ Our articulated dump trucks haul the finished aggregate to where it's needed on site

The result? Rock that would've cost thousands in trucking fees gets turned into road base, pipe bedding, and structural fill — right on the jobsite, right when we need it.
No wasted trips. No waiting on deliveries. Just a crew and a fleet that knows how to work.

Big things are happening at Barton Village!

This drone shot says it all. From graded building pads and aggregate stockpiles to excavators, dump trucks, and dozers all working in unison — this is what full-scale site development looks like when a great team shows up and gets after it.

At Barton Village, the Duggin Construction crew is handling:

✅ Mass excavation and grading to bring the site to finished design elevations
✅ Underground utilities — storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water line installation
✅ Aggregate base placement for roads, parking areas, and building pads
✅ Erosion control and site management throughout the entire development

You can spot the full fleet in action — excavators digging, articulated dump trucks hauling, and a crusher processing rock right on site. From that first cut to a finished, ready-to-build pad, we handle it all.

Proud of this crew and the work they put in every single day.

Meet the Equipment | Komatsu D61EXi Dozer
Right in the sweet spot of our dozer fleet — and it earns every bit of it.
Our Komatsu D61EXi sits between our D51 and D71 in size, equipped with Intelligent Machine Control (IMC) that uses GPS and 3D design data to automatically control the blade, cutting down on passes and getting the grade right the first time.

✅ Mid-size commercial grading — big enough to move material fast, nimble enough for tight areas
✅ Spreading and trimming select fill for building pads and road subgrades
✅ Fine grading before stone placement with GPS precision
✅ Shaping slopes, swales, and detention areas with accuracy
