Merry Christmas everyone! Now that I’m almost finished cutting the lumber for the new house, I’m considering cutting some stock to keep on hand to sell. I’m also considering the possibility of sawing customer logs and offering mobile milling services. Would anyone be interested in any of this? If so, please comment and let me know what you’d like to see offered.

Now that the barn is almost finished, we’ve been wide open at the sawmill. Finished up a pile of beautiful 2x12’s for our future porch. I also managed to squeeze out about 50 1x12’s from some blue stained pine that I had laying around.

It’s amazing what you can do with a big track hoe over the course of a few days! We were able to clear the driveway and home/shop site, build up the road bed, and install 2 culverts. Now to get these piles burned and get a dozer in there.

We were able to salvage a storm damaged shagbark hickory today. We were only able to cut one 8 foot log this afternoon, but it made some gorgeous 10/4 slabs that we’ll use for countertops and tables.
