Hi All,
I'm John, Art's Partner. Art and I started WeDoLawnsPlus after working with Paul Redwine(still a friend of mine). Art was fired(yes again), I quit. Art had a lot of experience in lawncare, pest control and mowing, I had little, I had money, Art had none. I bought WDLP a truck(9K), customer list from Paul Redwine(9K) some equipment&customers(1.7K),a van(.6k),a spraying tank & machine(.6K) and signed two notes(in my name only because Art's credit or anything he's associated with isn't good) to buy two mowers.
The last three years he has spent more money than we made on personal stuff. Offer the customers a 10% discount if they paid early, spent the money by May if not sooner on 2/3 personal stuff. By the time we really got to working, there was never any money for equipment maintenance(important for the company) or to pay me(important for me). Strange, as it happened, equipment failure ended up one of the only(yes there were many others) excuses that Art gave me and our customer's as to why we couldn't work today. When Art worked he could do well, but mostly he never wanted to work(I usually waited 2 hrs or more for Art to get to picking me up at around 10:30 which I frequently complain about, especially when he wanted to quit at 4:30). Yes his work ethic sucks, just ask about his past jobs.
WeDoLawns customers, there is more to this story, but my intent is not to get you involved with our company's saga, but to advice you not to pay me or Art any money up front, pay when the job is done.
