Human Nature, Inc.

Human Nature, Inc. Human Nature, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, provides landscape architecture and environmental planning services to clients in the public and private sector.

Human Nature was created to focus upon the planning/design of public open spaces and open space systems (parks, preserves, trails, greenways, streetscapes, neighborhoods, plazas and public art). These places offer the best opportunities for communities to express themselves through a celebration of cultural and natural resources. We believe that the inspiration for design lies within the special q

ualities of the site, the potential users of the facilities, and the people that build them. This is how we find the "Human Place in Nature". Since 1995 Human Nature has led or collaborated on planning and design projects, led community engagement, produced construction documents, and provided construction administration for projects from greater Cincinnati to China. We strive for quality throughout the development of construction documents and administration phases to ensure that the completed project comes in on budget and meets or exceeds client expectations. Our unique approaches to planning and design result in successful and sustainable projects.

Exciting things coming!
Bayer Becker Prus Construction

Construction on Kenton County’s 225-acre marquee park will begin Sept. 14, transforming the former Fox Run Golf Course into a destination built for recreation, adventure and outdoor exploration. The park is anticipated to reopen in late summer 2028.

To safely make this transformation possible, the park will be 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 to the public throughout construction. While about 70% of the property will remain untouched, large-scale equipment and active work zones will be present across the site, making the full closure necessary to keep visitors and construction crews safe.

And there’s a lot to look forward to.

The park will be built around three natural ridges, each with its own focus:
🎣 The first ridge will focus on civic activities and feature an enlarged fishing pond, dog park, outdoor fitness area, destination playground and interactive water feature, shelters, restrooms, observation tower and opportunities to walk through the tree canopies.
🚲 The second ridge emphasizes the spirit of adventure, with a bike park that includes skills course, bike playground and pump track, climbing wall, nature play, shelters and restrooms and a planned Go Ape facility with elevated obstacles and treetop experiences.
🥾The final ridge focuses on exploration building on the park’s extensive trail network that will be developed to cater to hikers and mountain bikers, while accommodating a wide range of abilities.

We look forward to sharing even more soon!

We love seeing projects flourish years after the initial “newness” fades a little. In the case of Lick Run Greenway in South Fairmount, habitat is flourishing and being studied! An urban stream provides greenspace for a neighborhood, reduces combined sewer overflows, creates habitat for a variety of animals and becomes an outdoor laboratory for students!

The health of fish in a local creek may tell a bigger story about how well millions of dollars in flood control and water quality improvements are working.

Honoring Mayor Haas and the official reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Charters of Freedom in Tower Park. It’s humbling to witness civic events like these in meaningful spaces we have had the honor to create.
