Weeds in the lawn are always on the forefront of your mind. So w**ds that grow in the winter can be annoying as no one is spraying during the winter months.
Winter annuals such as chickw**d, henbit and the early spring buttercups can be frustrating. It's frustrating for us too. We see this in December and then in March and it's too cold for any w**d spray to be effective until it warms up in late March and April.

Hopefully our blanket coverage of w**d control, done in September and October will alleviate most of the standard broadleaf w**ds.

Be patient. We've got you covered.

Two of the most important part of our services are the last two lawn applications. One in early fall and then the late fall winterizer.
The blanket coverage w**d control and the two high nitrogen applications will actually set the stage for your lawn for the upcoming year.

Remember - we can control mosquitos too!
Mosquitoes can lay an average of 100 eggs in a container the size of a bottle cap and 3,000 eggs in just a few weeks.
Mosquitoes can spread diseases such as Zika and West Nile.
Biting mosquitoes can cause welts and severe itching.
Mosquitoes can be active in cooler temps as low as 50 degrees.

Contrary to a popular lawn myth, leaving clippings on the lawn does not cause thatch, which is a layer of partially decomposed grass-plant parts between the soil and live grass. Grass clippings are mostly water, so as long as you mow regularly at the right height, they will break down and disappear rapidly.

Why are lawns so important?

-One acre of grass produces more oxygen than one acre of rainforest

-On a hot day, a lawn can be 30ยบ cooler than a blacktop surface

-Lawns trap 12 million tons of dust in a year

-Research has found that lawns, landscaping and nature in
general relieves stress and promotes healing

-Just as people judge you by the clothes you wear....Your lawn
and landscaping can be judged by others. If your lawn is in
order, the impression is the rest of your home is in order

- The value of your home could go up to $5000 or more if the
outside looks well attended not to mention the aesthetic value
(curb appeal) for you and your neighbors.

from our e mail

Greetings

We just had to let you know that we have been impressed, first by your initial presentation then by the lawn and the great customer service.
When you originally came into our kitchen, you had pens that you gave to my wife and I, then biscuits for my dogs and a coloring page with your "Shield" logo for my kids. My wife said that he came bearing gifts!
Then came the serious test; what was All Season going to do for my lawn. Well, we decided to sign up after all the great reviews on Angies List, Home Advisor and BBB.
Needless to say our lawn looks great. You really did 'discover our lawn's potential' as your ad says. You were the only service that could get rid of my hard to kill w**ds and also, someone asked me if we painted our lawn LOL. It's green! Bill explained to me that we had the right combination of grass type and that we mow high.
Anyway, everything looks great and we are happy.

Spring Time Weeds and Disease

While most diseases are rare in the spring two can be present; Snow Mold and Red Thread.
Snow mold occurs when the grass was left too high in the fall and snow has fallen in the winter.
The results could be white, grey or pink snow mold. Lawns need to be mowed through November
and lower the blade than the rest of the year. A pink polka dotted lawn can look surreal and can really stump a homeowner A little fertilizer and some sun should remedy the problem. A fungicide
could be used but it's not pertinent.
Red Thread is normally a nitrogen deficiency which could be caused by everything from long periods of dark cloudy days to an improper amount of fertilizer. Also if a lawn was fertilized and then not, it will go through a stress period. A fungicide can be used however a heavy application
of fertilizer and sunshine should allow it to pop out of it.

Two annual w**ds can also appear in the spring; Chickw**d and Celandine flowers
When most companies are done spraying w**ds in December, chickw**d can start to appear in some lawns and remain until spring. It can be sprayed in the spring and controlled however it has an evil twin, Speedwell which will continue to flourish, sometimes in the same area. This may take more than one spray and if it likes the lawn may reappear.
Large Celandine Poppies and Small Celandine Buttercups can also appear in the spring. Buttercups, at least in this area, are very aggressive as they spread rapidly like a stream of water. They will blanket the lawn and creep over borders and walls into the landscaping and spread throughout an entire area. Some consider it a pretty spring experience with its bright yellow flowers. Controlling these are very difficult. Their life however is about as short as a tulips as they simply disappear by late spring.
