Everyone Battles Something, Stay Your Fight! Semper!
Kyle spent 20 years of his life serving our nation as a United States Marine retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant of Marines in 2015. Originally from a two stoplight town in Oklahoma, because of Kyle’s career, he and his family have lived all across this great country of ours. After three of Kyle’s daughters decided to attend college in Tampa, Kyle and his wife, Amanda decided to relocate from Chicago, and so here we are braving the winters of Florida.
After Kyle's retirement from the Marines, like so many veterans, he felt out of place and disconnected from the "real world". Kyle knew he was created to serve others and because of that, he obtained his Master's degree in Pastoral Care & Counseling because he felt ministry nudging at his heart.
Living with PTSD and depression, Kyle created Battle 20 at the urging of his wife in order to maintain a healthy mental state and because she knew Kyle enjoys being outside among the elements. In March 2016, while living in Oklahoma, the beginnings of Battle 20 were created. That first lawn season, 4 beginning clients turned into 31 by the end of the season and the next year, Kyle maintained approximately 36 accounts as well as the occasional just “one time needs”.
Through Battle 20, Kyle is able to serve others and remain healthy, both mentally and physically. This is something a lot of veterans still struggle with, and because they struggle with it, Kyle, still in love with his brotherhood, struggles alongside them. Through sweat, some blood along the way and a determined work ethic, Kyle has been able to form some great relationships with his clients/now friends.
