Cold weather plumbing tips:
❄️ Leave faucets that are on outside walls dripping with their cabinet doors open. This prevents the water from staying stagnant in the pipe and freezing and also exposes the pipes to your home’s heat. These are usually kitchen sinks, but may also be bathroom sinks, showers, tubs or laundry sinks that are installed on walls that are exposed to the outside of your home.
❄️ Make sure to, if you can, add insultion to your hose bibs / spigots, detach hoses and if possible, shut the water off to those lines or leave them dripping.
❄️ If you have a crawl space, be sure that the vents/openings are covered/protected and be sure the insulation in your crawl is intact if you can.
❄️ please comment if you have any questions or need any other plumbing advice or tips ❄️
Stay safe and warm!
