I recently spoke to a customer who had requested bids from various tree service companies for a tree trimming project. He stated that on average to trim a tree the cost is between $200 - $400 an hour. He thought this was "absolutely ridiculous".

When requesting a quote, please remember all that goes into performing this type of work. There's machinery that is necessary to chip up and haul away the trimmed branches. You need vehicles to move these machines around. It takes a skilled and knowledgeable individual to climb and trim these trees. The homeowner also needs to be protected in case anything were to happen. Everything I just mentioned requires insurance. After you take all this into consideration, $200-$400 per hour doesn't seem that far fetched!
