Yesterday was National Donut Day and I celebrated the best way I know how - by stopping into Columbia Bakehouse and picking up some amazing pastries for my crew and family. 🥐☕

I also had the chance to visit with Saleena while I was there. It’s always great to support local businesses and Columbia Bakehouse is one of the best around. From the fresh-baked pastries to the welcoming atmosphere, they do an outstanding job.

As a small business owner myself, I know how important it is to support the folks who help make our community special and Columbia Bakehouse is a perfect example of that.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars from me!

If you haven’t made it into Columbia Bakehouse yet, you’re missing out. Whether you’re grabbing a morning pastry, fresh bread, or a cup of coffee, it’s well worth the stop.

🚜 We had a blast this week working on this install!

Even better, my son was out on the job with me and handled all of the excavating on this one. Pretty cool getting to work side by side and watch him do such solid work.

That white pipe carries sewage from the septic tank into the drain rock within the trenches, where the system begins doing its job underground. The fabric layered over the top is filter fabric, helping keep soil out of the rock so the drain field can continue functioning properly for years to come.

There’s something really rewarding about watching a system come together from the ground up. Big thanks to the crew for all the hard work this week. 👊

Memorial Day has always meant something deeply personal to me.

While serving as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army Rangers during Operation Just Cause in Panama, I lost two men I served beside. Private First Class John Price and Specialist Phillip Lear on December 20, 1989.

I made it home. They didn’t.

Not a Memorial Day goes by that I don’t think about them, their sacrifice and the families who continue to carry that loss. Today, I ask that you take a moment to remember the men and women who gave everything in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

Moms and septic systems really do have a lot in common…
They work hard behind the scenes, handle the messy stuff no one else wants to deal with, keep everything running smoothly, and somehow still don’t always get the credit they deserve. 😉

Today we’re celebrating the moms, grandmas, bonus moms, dog moms, and all the women who keep life flowing for the people they love.
