The Backyard Barber Landscaping does Landscaping hardscaping and now we will offer rainscaping services. Whats is rainscaping you ask?

Well its a way to take a normal, house downspout where water exits a piece of black corrugated pipe, and empties into the yard only to drain back to the home.

We will install a decorative rock look like water falls, or dry creek bed. To bring some style to your downspout systems. Some examples in the photos, that we can emulate, and add our own flare to them. Recreate nature in your front yard.

Here's a job we finished today. The client had several mulch beds in the front ,side, and rear the property. These beds had some old small stone in them, and a old wooden border that was rotted out.

We removed some shrubs and bushes. Then we planted several bushes and shrubs.We obtained these from our friends at Godwins Nursery.

We put down w**d barrier paper, and installed a new border around the beds using block.

Then we installed approximately 8 tons of Mocha stone. We obtained the stone from our friends Meadow Lands Supply Co. LLC .

Moreover, we installed a plastic border, and the Mocha stone around one of the upper beds on the side of the house.

Unfortunately, we were not able to wash off and power wash the Stone. The clients well ran dry due to significant use for their other projects.

But Mocha Stone looks really nice when it's cleaned up well. The client was super happy.

Here's a job we finished today. The client had a massive island of bamboo trees in his backyard.

They were between 25 and 30 feet tall, about 30 feet wide and 30 feet deep. We had to get them knocked to the ground using a tractor and brush hog.

Our friend Steve Summers from Summers Edge Hauling & Rental used his tractor and brush hog.

Some of the bamboo stalks were ground up into smaller chunks, others were cut down and piled up in 5 different piles.

The customer's gonna wait for them to dry out, and in late October he will burn them.

The client likes to burn these trees, and has done so in the past. But now he just wants them gone, and is going back to just regular grass. Otherwise , we would have hauled them away in a dumpster.

Then next year in late spring , he will treat the roots to kill them. Then he will come back next Summer, and put down w**d barrier paper and plant top soil and grass seed.

Our job was just phase #1 to get them all cut to the ground.

Then phase 2 client would come along and burn them in late October this yr.

Phase 3 next Spring he comes back and heavily retreats the roots. Then step 4 next summer.He installs w**d barrier paper , topsoil and grass seed.

But our part phase 1 was the most labor intensive.

In addition, we installed about 5 yds of leaf compost. In different areas of the yard.

Where there were some holes , some bare spots , and some parts of the yard . That needed leveled up a little bit.

We used leaf compost from our friends at Meadow Lands Supply Co. LLC .We also used Johnathan Green , black beauty , ultra grass seed. We obtained the seed from our friends at Evey True Value Hardware .

Here's a job we finished today.The client had lots of cascading and sheeting water that would fly across the surface of the ground.

It was eroding out part of his mulch beds, and putting trench lines in the soil in parts of his backyard. Consequently, we dug several trench lines. Then Excavated out the dirt, and put in w**d barrier paper and a drainage pipe.

Then we backfilled all the way to the top with round river rock, and we put several clean outs on the system. If you notice we use round, river rock as opposed to what most contractors use , which is 2B limestone

We use Round river rock for several reasons. Number one, it doesn't compact as much over time, like 2B Limestone does. The more it compacts, the smaller the voids get between The Rocks. This means it slows down the flow rate.

The rounded, non-angular shape of river rock prevents the stones from packing tightly together. This leaves larger voids, maximizing water flow and drainage efficiency compared to the interlocking structure of limestone.

Equally important, the round river rock has a smoother surface, and allows the water to flow through better. This higher flow rate take the water quicker from where the customer doesn't want it to where the client wants it. Which means it goes to a yard drain, or drains out to the street to discharge, or into the woods or over a hill into a creek .

Number 3- Zero Limestone Breakdown: Unlike limestone, which is alkaline and can break down or dissolve over time, river rock is chemically stable and does not contribute to the "fines" (dust and sediment) that clog.

We obtain the rock from our friends at Meadow Lands Supply Co. LLC

This way , when the sheeting water comes down , it hits the rock and immediately falls into the voids of the rock. The water falls into the bottom of the trench. Then enters the pipe and gets carried away.

The upper drain line.We had the water daylight and exit right into a little pond area.

The 2 lower Rock to grade pipe systems we installed at the bottom of the yard. We had those exit out through a pop up emitter, and drain into a chanell drain in his side yard.

Then we installed approximately 7 tons of semi decorative river rock. We obtained a rock from our friends at Meadow Lands Supply Co. LLC .

Here's a job we finished today. The client had several mulch beds in the front of the yard, that needed freshened up.

We applied w**d barrier paper and pins, and then a border. Them we installed fresh black , double shredded mulch.

In addition, on the right side of the house, there were some draining issues as the water was coming underneath the fence on the side of the property.

Then it was washing out the mulch into the neighboring property, and also flooding the front and side yard area.

We installed semi decorative round river rock into the side yars area. Then we installed a drainage system underneath the rock, to collect the water, and allow it to go to the front yard area.

Equally important, on the left side of the property, there was some old mulch in the mulch bed.

We installed fresh new mulch, and also that side yard had some drainage issues. So we installed a round river rock border , an created a system to collect the water and allow to flow to the front yard area.

We obtained the river rock and mulch from our friends at Meadow Lands Supply Co. LLC .
