Quite the project; roofing, siding, gutters & guards, a new patio door, and new decking (railings and pergola to come later). This house makes a statement going from drab neutral colors to a bold blue complimented by a dark brown accents. The roof is Owen’s Corning Duration done in Summer Harvest (a sun tunnel was added to the master bath to bring in natural light). The siding is Market Square D4 in Indigo Blue with S7 shakes on the front of the garage to match. Accent shakes in Peppercorn were added to the front of the house as a stand out focal point but also to tie the new garage doors together. Color matched gutters, downspouts, and guards blend seamlessly to help divert water away from the foundation. A Marvin patio door replaced an unusable French door allowing easy access to the walkout patio. And to finish things off, new Azek Timbertech decking in Kona replaces old worn out treated lumber (new stair stringers, joist tape, and an extended concrete apron ensure a long life for the deck).

Time for a face lift. New roof, soffit, fascia, gutters, and siding. CertainTeed Driftwood shingles with white aluminum soffit, fascia and seamless gutters; and Klauer Terra Bronze steel siding replaced the old aluminum siding.

105’ of 6” seamless gutter; this is the longest run of seamless gutter the boys and I have ever hung. The homeowners are going to have the downspouts empty into underground piping to drain away from the poleshed.

This was one of the ‘nicer’ rooflines I’ve worked on this season. 50+ square between the house and detach garage, but straight with only the slight bump out from the garage. Nothing unusual about the project, but the homeowners raised their kids right, both came out and helped with the cleanup making the job go quicker.

The last big project for Mom & Dad’s house before we get it ready to put on the market. It was damaged by the hail storms this spring and I have no idea how there wasn’t water damage. All of the plastic vents were cracked or broken open before I was able to temporarily cover them while waiting for the new roof. I roofed this with Dad about 20 years ago; He wanted a green roof, but Mom won that battle and Weather Wood went on. I changed things up and went with Owens Corning Duration Summer Harvest this time.

Off with the old, and on with the new. The homes steel siding paint had oxidized and peeled away for a second time after it had been completely repainted just a few years ago. They chose to go a little darker than the previous color, and wanted it clean and simple so there were no decorative accents added this time.

There is still time to get your home exterior project scheduled. With all the recent storms, time is getting tight though. In some cases, it might be beneficial to plan now, but wait until next year in the hopes of material prices coming back down. However, each homeowner needs to decide what’s best for them.
