The existing equipment on site, which is the oldest playground in our park system, is being replaced. The two proposed designs offer a variety of features including inclusive swings, climbing structures, sensory play panels, shade and more. PRESS RELEASE // City of Nampa Opens New Playground at Maplewood Park May 1

The Nampa Parks & Recreation Department announces the opening of a new playground at Maplewood Park, located at 2401 East Greenhurst Road. The playground will be opened to the public at the time of the ribbon cutting scheduled for Friday, May 1 at 3:00 p.m.

Maplewood Park is a two-acre neighborhood park located in south Nampa at the intersection of East Greenhurst Road and South Stonehedge Drive. The new playground will replace the existing play structure that was installed in 1997 when the park was originally created for the community. This new playground will incorporate features of accessible design that are meant for children of all abilities, ages 2-12. The amenities will include swings, slides, climbers with a double-deck tower and a seesaw. This new playground will benefit not only the neighborhoods surrounding the park but also the entire community, as it is accessible from the Stoddard Pathway that runs through Maplewood Park.
