My secret to super clean eggs (and animals) is natural h**p bedding. It’s super lightweight and absorbent and the perfect material for the deep litter method because it never gets soggy and gross despite the fact that we live in subtropical Central Florida.

The first part of the video is the duck house which has become a huge nesting box for the chickens. The second part of the video is the bottom floor of the chicken coop, which has become the nest of choice for the ducks. I only clean out each twice annually and impressively, there’s virtually no odor despite having 20 animals living between these two housings!

No tools necessary! In this video, I’m showing how to hand pollinate spaghetti squash and butternut squash, respectively. Both are grown in raised beds and watering grids and our garden has plenty of pollinators, but this demonstration is for educational purposes. I simply remove petals from male flowers when they first bloom in the morning and use that as my little “pollinator”, swabbing the inside of both male and female flowers to increase the chance of pollination to maximize yields.

These are growing side-by-side in a 4x8 raised bed and watering grid. It’s far taller than the top of my head and totally loaded with fruit. I harvest several clusters of ripe tomatoes from this vine every few days and they have rich, deep flavor with the perfect combination of sweetness and acidity.

I thought the fold over bag was a pretty good idea! I may go back and secure with foil and zip ties, but hopefully I’ll see roots within the next few months and be able to plant the clones by the fall. If you have tips to increase the chances of my success, I’d love to hear them! I already clone via propagation, but seems to create a much smaller plant to begin with compared to the potential of air layering a branch.

It’s OK if the first broccoli crown is small! It’s the first of many. Our garden mostly runs on auto pilot thanks to our raised beds and watering grids.
