It’s already shaping up to be a busy week for us, I’m sure it’s the same for other area HVAC companies too.

With all the 🌧️ we have had had recently, this weeks heat will push the heat index higher than we all like. Air conditioning will be working double duty trying to handle all the humidity.

Just a few tips ✅✅✅ for warmer weather:

1. 🧊Replace or clean air filters. Dirty filters reduce airflow and efficiency.

2. Check thermostat settings, this sounds simple but we always have a call or two for incorrect settings. 🌡️

3. 🧹 Clear debris around the outdoor unit. Remove leaves, grass, and other debris at least 2 feet around your condenser to allow proper airflow.

4. Use ceiling fans. Fans help circulate air and help the space feel more comfortable. 🪭

5. Keep your blinds and drapes closed during the day. 😎 Block direct sunlight to reduce indoor heat gain.

6. Don’t overwork 😫 your system anymore than needed. Avoid using ovens or dryers during the hottest parts of the day.

7. Stay hydrated! 💧💧💧

We had a service call today for a “gurgling noise” at the air handler. This is a new system, the installing company couldn’t get to it. A large company from Tulsa was called out before us and tried telling them it was “contaminated refrigerant” and they needed to recharge the system with new refrigerant, upwards of $2,000.00. We tested in and tested out and charged the system to spec. It was low from an extended lineset at installation. Gurgling disappeared once we fed the Txv with a full column of refrigerant. No signs of contamination.

Be mindful of the large out of town companies that do not have your best interests in mind or the knowledge, resources, and expertise to actually fix a system. These are also the companies who don’t help with the schools, little leagues, non profits, pounds, and etc…Mannford and Cleveland have several very good companies from one man companies up to companies with multiple vans and manpower.
