If a mitigation project isn't in your budget just yet, consider starting small. Even removing down/dead trees from your space can have a large impact in fire intensity!

Aspen trees are a shade intolerant tree species and lay dormant until the perfect conditions invite the roots to sprout. Overgrown Fir and Pine forests create shady environments that often kill off such species.

Aspens are a favorable tree to have within landscapes and have tremendous purpose within forests.
