Cabana on the lake + all new landscaping ✔️✔️✔️

This project started LAST year and just recently wrapped up. Lots of moving parts when new structures come into play. Mostly everything in this design is new: the owners wanted three separate levels of entertainment and lounging, in a tight space that’s pretty confining! But I must say mission accomplished.

All new cabana with outdoor kitchen & bar, custom tv wall, paver hardscaping, turf, flagstone fire pit, boulder and block walls… lots of detail in a small area. 👌🏻

I took an educational trip this past weekend to explore a nature preserve on one of the San Juan Islands, called Yellow Island. Over an hour on boat there and back, it definitely feels pretty isolated!

It’s a time capsule of human interaction and intervention over the centuries, standing out from the rest of the islands as a grassland, instead of coniferous. This time of year the island explodes with native wildflowers, and it was such a cool experience hiking through a burst of color.

Becoming more educated on conservation efforts in the PNW is an objective of mine this year, and this was a great experience! 🌼

Incredible!!! This was our first wedding of 2026 when we were still deep in snow. Next weekend heading into a double wedding weekend to kick start the season! Whooo hoooo!!!

Commonly considered enemy number one, these guys are highly misunderstood. These native wildflowers pack a punch. They may be providing more good than harm!

All this to say, should we let them take over wherever they want - no. If you don’t want them somewhere, remove them. But don’t paint them as a villain. 👌🏻

First wedding of 2026 was cozy, moody, & elegant. ❄️
