2 Crocked Pots

2 Crocked Pots We offer hand painted, wheel-thrown art pottery and jewelry in a variety of exquisitely detailed, collectable patterns.

Cub and Pam Storms have always had a flair for the creative. Long before they opened their studio, 2 Crocked Pots, in Cohocton, NY, they were drawing inspiration from their surroundings here in the Finger Lakes. Cub was born in Bath, NY, and as a child, enjoyed sketching, but gradually honed his artistic skills to focus on pen and ink drawings as well as watercolors. He took a ceramics course as a

n elective during his time at Corning Community College, and made a natural transition into using clay as his new canvas. Although Pam was born on an Air Force base in Salina, Kansas, where her father was stationed, her parents moved the family back to the region when she was five years old. Pam loved creating beautiful works from an early age, making hand-crafted items for her own use, as well as gifts for friends and family. She, too, was first introduced to ceramics during her time at Corning Community College. She now creates beautiful works of pottery which Cub then paints.
“Our work is naturalistic with occasional whimsical twist,” said Pam. “Each item is truly an original work of art and is meant to last a lifetime.”
Cub devotes several hours of meticulous painting to each piece of art pottery, ensuring the finished product is worthy of display. The designs he uses allow the natural beauty of the clay to serve as a backdrop for his floral, art nouveau, and whimsical patterns. In addition to throwing pottery, Pam has created an extensive line of jewelry, featuring stoneware and porcelain focal points. Her motifs range from playful and earthy to simple and classic.
“People love the uniqueness and beauty of our products,” she said. “Many customers have commented that they are amazed by the fine detail in Cub’ work, and the myriad of colors, textures and styles in mine.”
Both Pam and Cub are thrilled to be creating beautiful works of art in Corning & the Southern Finger Lakes, where they say there’s a diverse mix of artists who are all always willing to support each other.
