Good Morning and Happy Thursday Friends!

Today’s Bible verse is:
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
—Psalm 46:10

David’s example as God’s poet and psalmist King tells me that the promise of this verse is true (Psalm 37:7).
Jesus’ example shows that this is true (Luke 5:16).
Faith helps me trust that this promise is true.
Reverent silences, as we pause amid the hectic rush of our busy lives, can daily remind us that this promise is as true today as it was centuries ago. So, let’s make this promise a spiritual principle we bring into our daily lives. Let’s be still, and know that God is God, not us!

O Father in heaven, may your name be reverenced and held holy in my life and my world today. May your will be done, may your reign on earth come with power, might, and finality in my life, and please help me usher it into my world. Today’s Install was revamping a garage entry closet!

My customer already had the shelving and the door removed. I took the wall out up to the ceiling, added a bench with super deep drawers for some awesome storage, as well as an upper cabinet. And the final touch I added board and batten trim and hooks!

This paint color is so pretty - it’s a nice grayish blue - it’s Grays Harbor by Sherwin Williams.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday Friends!

Today’s Bible verse is:
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
—Colossians 3:13

Today’s message is an important but very challenging message to obey. How can I forgive someone who has grievously sinned against me?
Maybe the better question may be: How can I not forgive a brother or sister for whom Christ died (Romans 14:15; 1 Corinthians 8:11), when I know what Jesus did to forgive me? How can I withhold that grace from others? In addition to our verse today, the Holy Spirit emphasized this principle several times in the New Testament Scriptures:
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:14-15)
“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” (Mark 11:25)

These words from Jesus are powerful, but he even further dramatized the importance of this principle in the “Parable of the Unmerciful Servant” (Matthew 18:21-35). So, how do we live into this principle? How do we obey it when many of us have people who have sinned horribly against us?
Part of the answer lies in recognizing the enormous gift of forgiveness and salvation we have received. When we do that and recognize the costly grace we have received, we should be willing to extend grace. In addition, we can tap into the power of the Holy Spirit as followers of Jesus. We can ask for the Spirit to produce godly fruit in us that helps us forgive. Finally, we trust that while we may not have it in us to forgive on our own, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:25-26).

Another room redone at the Wulkan’s home! I have had the honor of getting to do countless projects for them in their homes- and it’s just a BLESSING to be able to make their house a home and an even greater honor getting to know them and their family….and their dogs- Kimber and Beau - they greet me every time I’m there! ❤️

This time was adding board and batten to one of the bathrooms, as well as adding shelving in the storage closet. The barn door and new entry door I did a few months back. The green was the before- Karen had a coat of paint on it prior to me coming- and I added the board and batten trim, and a final coat of paint! They also wanted the partition wall door removed so I trimmed that to match the barn door.

Thank you so much Karen and Kevin for letting me do another transformation in your home! You guys are the BEST! 💕

Most people in the world want a Savior but not a Lord. The New Testament is clear, a Savior who is not Lord is no Savior and no friend. If the Old Testament showed us anything, it is that God’s truth was written not for his fascination but for his people’s preservation. Many people today, maybe even most, believe they are saved because they think their good deeds outweigh their bad ones. Jesus, however, is very clear: Most are lost and will not find their own way to salvation (Matthew 7:13-27). Only Jesus is the way to God (John 14:6), and no one can be saved except through Jesus (Acts 4:12). While Jesus longs to be the Savior of all people (John 4:42), he emphasizes that for him to be our Savior, we must also choose to live with him as our Lord. That means we are bearing fruit that displays his righteous character, gracious compassion, and faithful lovingkindness in our lives (Galatians 3:22-23). So, let’s live that kind of life, enter through that narrow gate, and produce Jesus’ style of holy fruit as we trust in him as our Savior and Lord!

In a horribly turbulent, violent, and dangerous time for the children of God, the prophet Habakkuk confidently said, “The Lord is my strength!”
Wow, what faith. Wow, what power we have in the Lord’s abiding and empowering presence. Even in the worst of times, we are an enabled people. Unfortunately, we often forget the power available to us as disciples of Jesus. That’s why I believe we need to pray Paul’s prayer for fellow believers in our day, especially those brothers and sisters caught in a hard time:
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being. . .

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21)

Yes, because of the power given to us, we can confidently say, “The Lord is my strength!”

So many things about our lives are uncertain. This one thing, however, is sure: no matter where, when, or how long, God will be there and will be with us and will be for us. He is the “I AM” — the one “who is, and who was, and who is to come” — of every past, present, and future moment (Revelation 1:8). He will not forsake us (Hebrews 13:5-6). We will never be separated from his love for us in Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). Because God existed before anything was made (John 1:1-3), we can trust he will be with us when this form of creation ends, and when he ushers us into our eternal home with him forever. Hold fast, dear child of the eternal God, our Father has all of us, his children, in his “everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:27-28).

Good Morning and Happy Saturday Friends!

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Love that surpasses knowledge is truly powerful, but difficult to explain. However, when you have loved your spouse for decades, and he or she is as close to you as any bodily organ, you experience what this means. Love that surpasses knowledge. You know each other, and each other’s faults and weaknesses, but your love is deeper than when you first fell in love. When you love a child and do for them what you never dreamed you could do for another human being, you understand this phrase. Love that surpasses knowledge. And when you stand before God, adopted as a full heir of all his great riches (Romans 8:14, 16-17), a full sibling to Jesus Christ the Lord (Hebrews 2:14-15; 1 John 3:1-2), and Jesus presents you to the Father as holy, without reproach, and blameless (Colossians 1:22), you begin to understand this phrase. Love that surpasses knowledge.

While Paul’s exhortation here is excellent, it is the style of the exhortation we should especially notice. We live in an age where we are constantly pressured to emphasize the novel, new, or improved versions of things. But in our lives as Christians, our knowledge always exceeds our obedience — we very seldom live up to the truth we know, even though it is old truth and established truth. So, more often than we like to think, we need to remind each other of what we are doing that is right, good, obedient, and holy. Our words of affirmation and encouragement don’t need to be elaborate or profound or novel or new. We can say, “Hey, you’re doing well; just keep doing what you’re doing! I know your Father in heaven is pleased with you!” Let’s encourage each other and build each other up, as in fact some of us are already doing, and need to do so more and more.

Faithful Father, thank you for noticing and keeping record of the things I’ve done that are good and pleasing to you. Thank you for choosing to forget those things you have forgiven me. Praise is the direct address of God that lets him know we recognize him for who he is, what he has done, and what he is doing. But more than informing God of his greatness, praise is rejoicing before him in his greatness, while recognizing that not only is his grace without comparison, his majesty and might and holiness and faithfulness and righteousness and mercy and love and forgiveness and justice... are all without comparison. The Lord God is God. My praise is my thankful celebration and recognition of him as God, my God, the one and only true God, and let’s him know I rejoice in him!
