This annual, nationwide event honors those who lost their lives in work zone incidents and is held on the final day of the week-long campaign to encourage safer driving behavior. So please take a moment today to honor the lives lost in work zone incidents.

All roadway safety professionals across the country are encouraged to wear orange to proudly show their support of work zone safety. So wear your orange, especially to support the families of victims who have lost their lives in work zones.

It’s the start of National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW). This is an annual event established to better educate the public about safe practices for driving through and around work zones. The goal of NWZAW is to help people recognize the dangers both construction workers and drivers—as well as their passengers—face, and to prevent injuries and fatalities through outreach and education.
