The Final Count Down…The Title Song and Album of the 80’s band “Europe”. Here at Showcase it means we are in our Final Week before we Close for the season. That’s why Everybunny should come out and stock up on Michigan Apples, Pumpkins, Squash, Mums, Peppers, Cabbage, Garlic and whatever Fresh Produce is available. It is also the Final Saturday of our Spectacular “Fall Fest” series. This Saturday (October 31, 2026) beginning at 2:00 pm we will be auctioning off our remaining Premium Ice Cream tubs. Sooo be sure and come bid on your Favorite Flavors and take what’s left home with you. Don’t Miss Out!

Creating A New Space…One of the Features of our business, that often goes unmentioned here, is our Landscaping Division, but it is as important as Any of the Key Parts that make up Showcase Gardens. Our Experienced Crew are busy all season long delivering and installing a wide variety of materials to create and beautify your personal yards and gardens. It can range from small to large projects and anything in between. I plan to try and feature more photos as they complete some of the beautiful designs they have created. One of them in this post is a very large waterfall project in Camden. Keep us in mind when you’re ready to upgrade your Landscape Design…517-279-9834.

There’s Always a lot going on here at Showcase and this year has been dedicated to a couple very ambitious projects. First was on the south side of the property where we have been working on a new bridge and water feature. It has been a work in progress for some time now and is close to completion. The Second one is a new addition to the main building where we have added some much needed space for prep, storage and display of the fruits and vegetables that drive the Farm Market area of the business. We want to Thank Everybunny for their contributions to these extensive projects. Take Care.

Things Are “Heating Up”…The Showcase Chili Cook Off is this Saturday (October 24, 2026 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm). Contest participants will have their Special Blend for you to sample and then judge. Tickets are available for Adults $7.00 and $5.00 for kids and all the Chili you want, then your Votes will determine the “Best Chili”…The “Chili Champ” will receive a Cash Prize. We will also be having the Inspirational Sounds of Joe Renshaw for your listening pleasure, as you meander about the grounds and enjoy the festivities. It looks like it will be another stellar weekend so “Come On Down” and Get Your Fill of Delicious Chili.

Fall Fest continues not just with the “Chili Cook Off”, but also with the Bounce House, Straw Maze, Fun Games and such. Don’t miss installment Number Four next Saturday (October 31, 2026…Halloween) when we will have an Ice Cream Auction starting at 2:00 pm. Come Bid On and Win your Favorite Flavor. You may also want to grab some Pumpkins, Apples, C***r, Donuts, and any of our Fresh Produce that is left, as this will not only be the Finale of our “Fall Fest”, but we also will be closing for the season as well. We want to Thank Everybunny for contributing to another Hugely Successful Season here at Showcase Gardens.

All Aboard…Don’t forget to make the trip over to Quincy, Sunday on the Little River Railroad “Pumpkin Train” where we will have Apples, C***r, Donuts and more for you to feast upon. The train leaves Coldwater (check at littleriverrailroad.com for time and cost) and travels along the tracks, where you can enjoy all the Beautiful Bounty of Fall Colors and the Magic of a Steam Locomotive Excursion. Child’s Play…Typically used to describe a task, problem or activity that is easy to accomplish. Also a Classic Horror Movie, appropriate for this time of year. In our case, here at Showcase, it is the Epitome of a Fun Filled Day of Activities for Youngsters.
“Kidz Day” is our second offering in our Fall Fest Extravaganza and is This Saturday (10/17/26) from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm. There will be a Scavenger Hunt, Photos with Goats, Face Painting, A Bounce House, Various Skill Games and more All Free of Charge. “Big Daddyz Eats” food truck will have plenty of Delicious Menu Items for purchase along with our own Ice Creams, Baked Goods and Beverages. Bring the Kiddies by for a Fun Filled Day at Showcase.

Third Times The Charm…You may also want to get registered (by 10/18/26) for our “Chili Cook Off” contest coming on Saturday October 24th, 2026 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Where you bring a pot of your special blend to compete (there is No Fee to enter) and anyone that wants can purchase a judging ballot (Adults $7.00- Kids $5.00) and Enjoy unlimited access to any of the Chili’s, then Vote for their Favorite One. A Cash Prize will go to the Winner. We will also be having the Inspirational Musical Talents of Joe Renshaw for your listening pleasure. A Perfect Way to spend a Crisp October Afternoon so please come join us.

Another feature that is available this month is a raffle for a chance to attend the “Great Lakes Ice Cream Show” in February 2027 at the Kellogg Center in Battle Creek. Tickets are $3.00 each or 2/$5.00. There will be hundreds of frozen dessert selections to sample and your chance to help us select our choices for next season’s array. In addition to all the Fun & Games we still have a Great Selection of Seasonal Flowers, Fruits and Vegetables including Pumpkins, Apples, C***r, Squash, Tomatoes, Peppers & Mums. Better Get Them Now or it will be Too Late. In less then 3 weeks we will be closing for the season, Take Care.

A Cut Above…means Superior in Quality, a Higher Standard or Better Performing, All of which we try to achieve here at Showcase in Each and Every part of our business. This Saturday (10/10/26) is the 1st phase of our “Fall Fest” Extravaganza. Free at Noon, Mr. R’s “Master Class in Statuary Painting” will demonstrate methods and techniques for applying finishes to cement items.

Speaking of “Cut”...From 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm there will be Pumpkin Carving and Painting…just purchase our pumpkins and then we’ll supply the tools for you to Create your very own Masterpiece…sounds like Fun doesn’t it! Along with that, all day long, there will be a Bounce House, Straw Maze, Assorted Skill Games and lots of Goodies like C***r, Donuts, Baked Items, Ice Cream and Assorted Beverages for purchase. You may also want to purchase raffle tickets to attend the Great Lakes Ice Cream show and have a hand in deciding next year’s line up…Tickets are $3.00 each or 2/$5.00 and the drawing will be conducted on October 31st.

Here That Train A Comin’…The opening line from Johnny Cash’s iconic tune “Folsom Prison Blues”. You’ll be hearing the train I’m referring to Every Sunday this October. It will be leaving Coldwater Heading for Quincy where Showcase will have Apples, C***r, Donuts and more Special Fall Favorites to purchase…right there by the tracks.
So whether your riding over on the Little River Railroad “Pumpkin Express” or just in the area, Feel Free to Drop By and get some of these Goodies. Maybe you can get Floyd to sing his Favorite Johnny Cash hit. We also have this and more at our store.

Fallin’ For You…A hit by Colbie Callait (and by my Favorite cover band “Foxes & Fossils” also, check them out)…we here at Showcase have Fallin’ for you, that’s why we offer Only the “Best of the Best” products. Even though we will be closing up for the season at the end of this month we still have the “Best of Fall” selections available…Several popular varieties of Michigan Apples, Watermelons, Pumpkins, Gourds, Squash, Mums, Tomatoes and more Seasonal Fruits & Vegetables…all waiting just for you…Come On By and Get Them Before They’re Gone.

Wrap It Up…Sam & Dave originally, later covered by “The Fabulous Thunderbirds”. Its getting close to “Closing Time” (a Semisonic hit), but don’t despair because we will be going out in style with our 1st “Fall Fest”. Four Saturdays this month (10, 17, 24 & 31) with Lots of Food, Fun & Festivities…including a Bounce House, Hay Maze, Skill Games for Fun and lots of Food and Beverages to purchase as you enjoy the Autumn Atmosphere here.
First Up October 10th…from 2:00 pm -5:00 pm “Pumpkin Decorating” where $8.00 will get you one of our Fabulous Pumpkins and then you can Carve and Paint it Any way you want. We will have staff available to assist in your creative endeavors. Raffle Tickets will also be available for a chance to attend the Great Lakes Ice Cream show in Battle Creek with hundreds of samples on hand and your chance to help us select next season’s offerings. Tickets are $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00 with the drawing held on October 31st.

Second Date, October 17th…from 11:00 am -7:00 pm is Kids Day…a Free Event that will feature a Scavenger Hunt, Photo Shoot (with our Farm Friendly Goats), Kiddie Games, Bounce House & Hay Maze. Big Daddyz Eats food truck will have Delicious Food items to purchase along with all of our own array of goodies like Premium Hand Dipped Ice Cream, Baked Goods, and select beverages.

Third On October 24th…from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm our Chili Cook Off returns. There is no entry fee to compete, with unlimited tasting and judging for patrons at $7.00 for adults & $5.00 for kids. A cash Award will be given to the “Best Chili” winner. Register for the contest on our page (Showcase Gardens and Landscaping) or by calling 517-279-9834 with your name and phone number ASAP. Also for your enjoyment Live Entertainment will be provided by local favorite Joe Renshaw.

Lastly On October 31st…”I Dream, You Dream, We All Dream, Of Ice Cream”. Beginning at 2:00 pm we will be auctioning off the remaining tubs of our Premium, Brand Name Ice Creams. Come and Get your favorite flavor and enjoy that last bit of pleasure before we close up shop for the season. The World Series…coming soon for Baseball Fans, but Right Now you can enjoy the “World Series of Fall Favorites” right here at Showcase. We have restocked the “Punkin’ Parking Lot” with loads more Beautiful Pumpkins, Gourds & Squash…Plus Colorful Mums, Corn Stalks. Indian Corn, Hay Bales and More. All the right elements to Create Lavish Autumn Displays to Adorn your Humble Abode or pick out just the right ones to Carve Up for Halloween. There's still plenty of Fresh Fruits & Vegetables here too.

Super Sunday…Again, Not The “Super Bowl” one, but our version which is when we travel, each Sunday in October, to Quincy with Apples, C***r, Donuts and other Goodies and set up in the park by the Railroad Tracks waiting for the Little River Railroad's “Pumpkin Train” to arrive. Drop on by and say Hi and take home some treats, but no tricks (wink, wink). The Final Four…No, not the College Basketball Tournament, but the Showcase Gardens Season Finale this October. The Final Four Saturdays in October (10th, 17th, 24th, & 31st) we will be holding Special Events for Everybunny to come and enjoy. Here are the Details…
For Every Event there will be a Straw Maze, Bounce House, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four and Corn Hole Games to play at your leisure. You may also want to purchase Pumpkins, Ice Cream, Donuts, Baked Goods, Hot Spiced C***r, Cocoa or Coffee. How would you like to WIN a trip to accompany us to the annual Great Lakes Ice Cream convention at the Kellogg Center in February 2027 and have a hand in helping us select next season’s line up of flavors. Tickets are $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00 with the Drawing to be held on October 31st.
Our First Event takes place Saturday October 10th and is Pumpkin Decorating Day from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. You can purchase your pumpkin for $8.00 and we’ll supply the carving tools, paints and brushes so you can make your own Personal Pumpkin Creation. Tomato Mania Continues…with The “Great Taste Debate”. We have an Outstanding Selection of Tomato Varieties, grown right here, and we are happy to let you sample them. Come One Come All and try Each and Any of these Fantastic Heirlooms, Hybrids, Romas and Cherries and Taste The Bold Flavors they have to offer. Brighten Up that Sandwich, Salad or Sauce by selecting just the right variety to enhance its Flavor with these Stunning Beauties.
