Prime Bees is a bee farm in College Station, Texas that is focused on making beekeeping more accessible to residents in Aggieland and the surrounding counties through education. Our educational opportunities are hands-on, highly engaging, and exciting for any level of beekeeper or bee enthusiast. We work with Texas beekeepers to provide diverse, resilient, and thriving hives. We provide bees to lo

cal honey producers and craftsmen so they can provide Real Texas Honey and other bee products. Our Rent-A-Hive program offers turnkey solutions for people wanting agricultural exemptions on 5+ acres in Brazos County. We mentor local beekeepers to help them get started in the hobby and are happy to answer questions - if we don't know, we'll find out ;)

We perform bee removals and extractions in Bryan and College Station with experience and knowledge of construction so that your home and the bees are handled with care. The bees are safely relocated from "problem areas" to a place where they can be productive and happy.

This queen mother has been rocking it out for 2 seasons now - she’s one of our breeder queens that we brought in from out of state. She’s a California queen that was instrumentally inseminated. It’s a strange practice but ensures that the VSH traits to battle varroa through genetics as well as other chosen traits like temperament, production, and overall performance are controlled. Since queen bees are generally openly mated they seek out 10-20 drones from the area around them and the genetics is largely unknown until you start to observe the traits over time. This gives us a great baseline for breeding queen bees that work well in our operation and is just one of many steps we’ve taken to have better bees each year. She’s a winner 🏆
