It looks like it’s been almost a year since my last TDL post, and that’s because a lot has changed. Some may not know, but August 13th of last year I started a new job as Manager of Landscape Construction and Heavy Equipment for Texas A&M University. Whoop! Technically, I work for SSC, but aTm is my new playground! I’m loving it. Design AND Build!

Today, however, I have officially closed the doors of the TDL World Headquarters! I will continue to do some select design projects on the side, but for the most part,...I’m done! I have a garage full of desks, projects, files, and office furniture that I have to figure out what to do with. I have a real hard time throwing old projects away, because I love to go back through and remember them. Good and bad! But I just don’t have room for them. I may just wait for cool weather, start a fire, and toast them one by one as I retire them! If you see smoke,...come join me!

Some of you may have seen the story on this project on KBTX tonight! It's been an interesting experience dealing with the "permitting", but very fulfilling, none the less. Once again, great contractors and great client (BV Food Bank). Kathie and Henry from Raindrop Harvesting Solutions are responsible for the water harvesting system, Tropical Landscapes built and installed the raised planters, and G&W Electric provided the power. TDL did all of the design and project management. Still a little left to do, but we are ready to plant! I need to go take some updated pictures, but since it made the news, tonight, I wanted to post!

I don't think I ever posted any finished pictures of this renovation project, so I felt the need to do it, now. Please scroll down to look at the "before" and construction pictures to get a full appreciation for the scope of the project. TDL did all of the design work for sidewalks, entry landings, ADA ramps, grading, retaining walls, and planting, etc., as well as some design input for the building renovation.
