T H A T C H E D -> M E T A L

Our crew has been busy this summer with a special project, replacing a thatched roof! Thatched roofs are made up of dry vegetation such as straw which is then layered to shed water away, thatching is also used as insulation. Thatched roofs are very uncommon anymore but you will still find them in places like Ireland and the United Kingdom. The existing roof was installed by two gentleman from Ireland in May of 1987. We filled FIVE dumpsters with thatched material before installing new plywood and insulation to prepare the roof for a new standing seam metal roof. Did you know we fabricated our own trim for this entire project? We were also busy installing a standing seam metal roof on the red adjacent building.
