Service By Scott Plumbing is hiring a full-time Plumbing Apprentice for 40 hours per week. This position is built for someone who wants hands-on training, paid education, and a clear path toward becoming a licensed plumber in Texas.
No prior plumbing experience is required.
What matters to us is that you show up ready to work, learn, take instruction, and improve every day.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN & DO
As a Plumbing Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced plumbing professionals and receive hands-on training while assisting with:
• Residential and commercial plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance
• Plumbing diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Water, sewer, drain, vent, and gas piping systems
• Water heater installations
• Plumbing fixture replacements
• Safe operation of plumbing tools and equipment
• Maintaining clean, organized, and safe job sites
• Following company safety policies and OSHA standards
• Providing professional, high-quality customer service
This is a hands-on trade. You won’t learn plumbing sitting behind a desk you’ll learn it by doing it.

If you’re not already registered with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners as a Plumbing Apprentice, Service By Scott Plumbing will pay for your:
Plumbing Apprentice registration
Fingerprinting
Background check
Drug Testing
Our apprentices also receive paid training and education, including:
Texas Plumbing Code training
OSHA safety training
State licensing exam preparation
State licensing exam fees
Manufacturer training
Continuing education courses
Customer service training
Communication training
Leadership development
Our goal is to give the right person the training, experience, and education needed to build a long-term career in the plumbing industry.
WHAT WE REQUIRE
You must:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a valid Texas driver’s license
• Have reliable transportation to and from work
• Have a strong work ethic
• Be dependable and willing to learn
• Be able to perform physically demanding work
Plumbing is physical work. You need to be comfortable:
• Lifting up to 100 lbs
• Climbing and working from ladders
• Working in crawl spaces
• Working outdoors in Texas weather
• Getting dirty
• Learning on the job every day
Previous plumbing or skilled-trade experience is preferred, but it is NOT required.
Being registered as a Plumbing Apprentice with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners is also preferred, but it is NOT required.
THIS JOB ISN’T FOR EVERYONE
