The Town of Malone held a public hearing on June 22nd to vote on Colonie-based Cipriani Energy Groupâs proposal to build a ground-mounted solar facility located at 176 Bare Hill Rd, Malone NY. Here is key information about the proposed solar facility:
⢠Provides clean, emission-free electricity
⢠Can reduce residential utility bills by as much as 10%
⢠Produces $5,000 per megawatt in annual tax revenue, for 35 years
⢠Includes a âdecommissioning planâ that leaves no trace
⢠All steel for solar panels are recycled
⢠Hidden from community view, not close to the river, and no residential area nearby
⢠Project is smaller in scale, only 2 megawatts
⢠Bare Hill Road project site is only 15 acres
⢠Less than ½ acre is prime farmland, with setbacks between the fencing and the panels, final number will be in the 0-1/4 acre range
⢠Glare analysis has been performed and the project passes
⢠Project will be subscribed as community Solar by NOCO a 75+ year old New York company. http://www.noco.com/green/
The public hearing remains open and anyone who wishes to submit their comments to the Town may still do so in writing until July 12th.
