Winter watering? Yep — it’s still a thing in Colorado. 💧🌿

Between dry air, sunshine, and long stretches without snow, trees and shrubs can dry out even when temperatures drop. A little winter watering goes a long way in keeping your landscape healthy until spring.

A few quick tips:
✔️ Water on warmer days (above 40°F)
✔️ Midday is best — when the ground isn’t frozen
✔️ Focus on trees, shrubs, and new plantings
✔️ Skip watering if there’s been recent snow or moisture

Colorado Springs got hit with its first big snowstorm of the season ❄️ and our Green Vision team was ready for it.

We had eyes on the storm all night, watching every flake and monitoring conditions until properties hit their service minimums — and then our crews rolled out to get the job done. 💪🌿

Walks were cleared, roads were serviced, and communities stayed safe without anyone needing to stress about when help would arrive.

Colorado weather is wild — one day it’s sunny and 70°, the next day your plants are wearing ice hats. 🧊🌿

Here’s the deal:
☁️ Frost = chilly, light freeze — your hardy plants will survive.
❄️ Freeze = below 32°F for a few hours — unprotected plants may struggle.
🥶 Hard Freeze = below 28°F for a while — say goodbye to anything tender and unprepared.

If you’ve planted new flowers, shrubs, or trees this fall:
💧 Give them a good watering before cold nights (moist soil holds heat)
🌾 Add mulch to protect the roots
🪴 Cover delicate plants overnight
🚿 And make sure your sprinklers are blown out before that first hard freeze!

The good news? Fall is one of the best times to plant — cooler temps and warm soil give roots a head start before winter. 🌿

Depending on your soil type, here are a few ideas:
🌻 Sandy soil = perfect for lavender or sunflowers
🌳 Clay-heavy soil = try native grasses or aspens
🌹 Loamy (lucky you!) = roses and perennials thrive here
