As the story goes, when my mom was expecting her first born and third favorite son, her dad made her the stool that has been present in the lives of her children for 35 years now. As my youngest and favorite sister is expecting her first child, I wanted to make something that, when donated to goodwill next year, may find its way to a family for 35 years. This walnut piece with poplar legs is the most over designed footstool I could realistically build the night before a baby shower. And I hope it stands my niece forever within reach of her Uncle’s love and support.
