Summer lawn care tip: Longer grass will love you!
1) Leave grass longer... I know it doesn't look like a golf course putting green... but it is hot out there and shorter grass gets stressed and dried out easier.
2) Mow often... the less you cut off the easier it is for your lawn to handle getting cut down.
3) Don't fertilize... many cold season grasses go dormant in the heat just like they do in the cold. Fertilizing requires more water.
4) Water slow and deep... the water needs to get down to the roots. When you water make sure it is not in the heat of the day and that it is slow so that it can get deep.
