Hello friends! For those of you who don’t know, I sold Brown’s Greens Composting to a local non-profit called Food to Power back at the beginning of the year, and I am a manager for them now! It’s been a really good move for me, and I am honored to throw my hat into the work that Food To Power does. If you don’t know much about FTP, I eagerly invite you to join us Sept 21st for our 10th ANNUAL HARVEST CELEBRATION! It’s gonna be a load of fun, packed with local food, drink, music, and tons of ways to witness the good work that FTP does. Most of you know by now but it’s time to officially announce it. Browns Greens Composting has been acquired by Food to Power! I come with the deal, and have joined the Food To Power team as the Collections Manager. Exciting stuff for Colorado Springs y’all, curbside composting efforts are now all under one roof! Here’s to new beginnings in the new year!

We just tipped the scales to over 400,000 pounds of food waste composted! That’s 200 TONS. That’s almost 4 semi truck trailers full of waste that is now feeding and fertilizing our soils rather than festering in landfills and polluting our atmosphere. Well done Colorado Springs, let’s keep it up!

NEW BUCKETS!! We’ll be retiring our current bucket inventory and starting fresh. These buckets come to us lightly used by a natural hair and skin care products distribution company, so sometimes they even have a pleasant scent!

Let us know if you want to buy some of our old buckets! We’re selling them for 50 cents a piece with a 20 bucket minimum.

Brown’s Greens is the primary plant installer for Phelan Gardens! If you go to Phelans and purchase a tree, shrub, or perennial and ask for installation, we’ll be at your door within two weeks to plant them for you!

We follow CSU Extension guidelines on how to properly install landscape plants, and Phelan Gardens protects their plant we install with a 1 year warranty. Hire a professional to give your next trees and shrubs their best possible chance of success!

Huge shout-out to these two… David and Aaron. They’ve been through thick and thin for Brown’s Greens over the past two years. Pulling stumps out of the ground, lifting tons upon tons of boulders, dumping thousands of buckets of stinky food waste, moving literal mountains of mulch, and so much more. We are so thankful for you guys!!
