If the inside of your electrical panel looks like a plate of spaghetti, we need to talk. 🏔️🍝⚡️

Kris and James are rolling out early this Thursday morning, and we’re heading out to handle a couple of diagnostic calls before diving into a full service change.
We talk a lot about hidden hazards, but today the crew wants to talk about craftsmanship. When you look inside an electrical panel, you can tell instantly what kind of electrician worked on it. A lot of guys will slap wires in, jam them under the lugs, and cram the cover back on. If it holds juice, they call it a day and collect the check.

At High Peaks Electric, we refuse to work that way. To us, perfectly combed wires, square bends, and clear labeling aren't just about making the panel look like a work of art—it’s a safety standard.
When wires are a tangled mess, they trap heat. It makes troubleshooting a nightmare down the road, and it’s how loose connections get missed. When James and Kris build a panel, every circuit is systematically routed, tied down, and accounted for.

That level of pride goes into every single one of our 4-Tier Triage Estimates. Whether you hire us for the Tier 4 Essentials (fixing just the baseline problem you called about) or you go all out for the Tier 1 First Class Experience (a bulletproof, top-of-the-line system overhaul), the quality of the workmanship never changes. We treat your home’s grid like we’re building it for our own families. 🧤🛠️

Schedule Update:
We’re wrapping up some big projects today, which means High Peaks Electric has openings ready for Friday and heading into next week. If you want a straight-shooting neighbor to look under the hood of your home's electrical system, shoot us a message or give us a call this morning.

Wednesday check-in, and honestly, this one hits a little different. 🏔️🇺🇸💼

Remember that wild "hidden handyman special" we posted about recently? The 1940s house with the buried junction box, the double-tapped copper and aluminum feeders, and three panels crammed onto one 100A main breaker?

Welp, Kris and James just wrapped up the first major phase of making that property safe, and it’s easily one of the most rewarding jobs the crew has done in a long time.

The home belongs to an elderly, disabled veteran who has spent his entire retirement grinding to make sure other local heroes get the recognition, landmarks, and memorials they earned in our community. Being a local 2-man team means we get to work face-to-face with our neighbors, and being able to bring safety to someone who has given so much to our country is exactly why we love this trade.

How we tackled it:

Instead of just patching a wire, we executed a Tier 2 Pro-Active Service Change to completely untangle the mess. 🛠️🧤

We separated those three panels onto their own properly sized breakers (a 50, a 60, and a 90) so the system is actually protected; took the two heaviest loads in the house—the washer and dryer—and completely removed their draw from those overloaded downstream panels by running a brand new pipe run straight from the new main panel over to the porch/laundry room.

So, this house was built in the 40s,(with several 'homeowner special' additions) and due to those factors were going to take a few more appointments spread out over the next year (at homeowners convenience/decision)to get the entire system 100% ready for him to put it on the market. But that’s exactly why we use our 4-Tier Triage system. We gave him the facts, fixed the immediate fire hazards today, and built a long-term plan that fits his timeline and budget without any corporate high-pressure upsells.

Schedule Update:
We are rolling into the second half of the week, and High Peaks Electric has openings ready to fill starting tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday. Whether your home needs a basic safety triage or a full, first-class upgrade, you’ll get straight answers and the highest standard of work from two guys who live right down the road. Shoot us a message or give us a call to get on the books.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone. And if you see a veteran today, thank them.

Tuesday morning, and the crew is already rolling. 🏔️☕️

Kris and James are out early today, knocking out the last of the early-week backlog. When you're a tight 2-man operation, Tuesdays are all about head-down grinding to finish up the heavy lifting so we can open up the books for the rest of the week.

Yesterday, we had a couple of folks ask what exactly our 4-Tier Triage List looks like when we do our safety audits. At High Peaks Electric, we don't believe in backing you into a corner with a high-pressure sales pitch. Our $350 dispatch covers the trip, a full hour of expert troubleshooting, and a complete safety evaluation of your system, from there, you get clear choices:

🏆 Tier 1: First Class Experience – The ultimate, top-of-the-line setup built around your long-term goals for the house.

🥈 Tier 2: The Pro-Active Tier – Fixing the current issue plus smart upgrades to make your life easier before things age out.

🥉 Tier 3: The Triage Tier – Handling the immediate problem plus anything our audit flags as a near-future hazard.

🛠️ Tier 4: The Essentials – The baseline. We address the exact issue you called us out for, ensure it is completely safe, and provide you with the remaining triage list and prioritized recommendations so you can plan for what needs attention next on your own timeline.

We lay it all out cleanly so you can triage your own home’s needs based on your budget. No corporate fluff, just honest answers from your local neighbors.

Schedule Update:

We are locked in on jobs for the rest of today, but High Peaks Electric has openings starting tomorrow (Wednesday) through Friday. If you’ve been putting off an electrical check or need a mystery issue diagnosed, shoot us a message today so we can get you on the books for this week! 🧤⚡️

Monday morning, tools loaded, and the coffee is black. Let’s get after it. 🏔️☕️⚡️

Happy Monday, Security-Widefield and the Springs! Hope you all had a solid weekend.

After fighting off that bug last week, Kris and James are officially back at 100% and the van is staged for a heavy week of service calls. We're starting this morning rolling out to some nasty troubleshooting jobs that have been keeping local homeowners up at night.

We know how it goes—you spend the weekend noticing that one outlet by the kitchen counter is acting up again, or you realize your AC is about to face its first real summer stress test and you aren't sure if your older 1970s panel can handle the load. 📉🔥

At High Peaks Electric, we don't just patch things up and run to the next job. Your $350 dispatch includes a full hour of expert troubleshooting plus our Signature Full Safety Evaluation. We lay everything out on a straight-shooter, 4-tier triage list from the bare minimum safety fixes to a "First Class" ultimate upgrade. No corporate fluff, no high-pressure sales pitches—just honest options from your local neighbors. 🧤🛠️

The crew is booked up solid today and tomorrow catching up, but we have openings starting this Wednesday through Friday. If your home’s electrical system is giving you a Monday morning headache, don't ignore it until it becomes an emergency. Shoot us a message or give us a shout, and let's get it sorted right.

Sunday evening routine: Coffee prepped, van staged, and getting ready for the Monday morning rush. 🏔️☕️

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend enjoying this Colorado weather. While you guys are winding down and getting ready for the work week, Kris and James are mapping out the game plan for tomorrow.

We know how Sunday nights go. You’re sitting there thinking about the upcoming week, and you remember that one outlet behind the couch that stopped working, or that breaker that you just know is going to trip the second the home office setup and the AC try to run at the same time tomorrow morning. 📉🔥

If your house is giving you that Monday morning dread before the week even starts, don't just live with it.
When the crew gets dispatched to your place, we don't just slap a band-aid on the problem and hand you a bill. Your $350 covers the dispatch, an hour of troubleshooting, and our full safety evaluation. From there, High Peaks Electric gives you a clear, no-pressure 4-tier triage estimate—from the bare minimum essentials to get you safe, all the way up to a "First Class" bulletproof upgrade. You're always in the driver's seat.

Next Week's Schedule:
We are booked tight Monday and Tuesday catching up on jobs, but we have open slots starting Wednesday. Drop us a message tonight or first thing tomorrow morning, and let’s get your home’s electrical squared away so you can actually focus on your week. 🛠️🧤

Friday in the neighborhood. 🏔️☕️

Kris and James are wrapping up the week right here in Security-Widefield. There’s something about working on the same streets where we live that just hits different. When the crew is at your house, we aren’t just "the electricians"—we’re your neighbors.

One thing we’ve noticed lately while talking to folks in the community is the "I’ll get to it eventually" list. You know the one:
The outlet in the garage that’s been dead for two years. 🔌🌑
The outdoor light that flickers every time the wind blows. 🌬️💡
The breaker that trips if you dare to run the toaster and the coffee maker at the same time. 🍞☕️

Look, life is busy, and we get it. But with the summer heat officially moving in, those "little" annoyances can quickly turn into "big" problems when your electrical system is under stress.

High Peaks Electric isn't about the hard sell. When James and Kris show up for a dispatch, we give you the full picture with our safety audit, but we leave the driver's seat to you. Whether you want to fix the bare minimum or go "First Class" with a full system upgrade, we just want to make sure your home is safe for your family.

The crew has a couple of spots left for late next week. If you want to cross that one nagging electrical job off your list before the weekend hits, shoot us a message.

Have a safe weekend, neighbors. See you out there!

Welp... the radio silence the last few days wasn't planned, but man, life happens. 🏔️🤒 It’s been about 4 days since you’ve heard from High Peaks Electric, and honestly, it’s because a bug caught up with the crew.

When you’re a 2-man team like Kris and James, anything—even a 24-hour bug or a rough cold—can pretty much cripple the operation. We’re local, we’re small, and we’re hands-on, which usually means we’re out there grinding. But sometimes, the body tells you to sit one out so you don’t bring that "spark" (and a fever) into a neighbor’s living room.

The good news? We’re back at 100% and back in the van. 🛠️🧤
We’re spending today catching up on all the messages and quotes that piled up while we were sidelined. If you reached out over the weekend or early this week and haven't heard back yet, hang tight—the crew is working through the list right now.

Current Availability:
We are officially back at it and have openings starting this Friday and into next week for:

The "Triage" Safety Audits (Getting you ready for that summer heat!) ☀️📈

Troubleshooting those mystery dead outlets.

Panel upgrades and dedicated circuits.

Being real with you guys is one of our core values. We aren't a giant corporation with a call center; we’re just two guys from the neighborhood doing honest work. Thanks for being patient while we got back on our feet.

Welp... Friday is finally here. Tools are nearly back in the van, but man... check out what Kris and James dug out of a wall in the Springs yesterday. 🏔️☕️🚫

Take a look at this junction box in the photo. It’s the classic "hidden handyman special" that was completely buried behind the wall. 🤦‍♂️ We have it all re fed and proper now but man was it a struggle yesterday!

The crew found this because the whole house was a mess of double-tapped feeds. The previous owner had a large copper feed and a large aluminum feed jammed under the exact same lugs on the 100A main breaker. That’s a massive fire hazard on its own.

It got worse the deeper we dug. They ran that aluminum line over to this hidden box and split it off to power two more panels.

So, in effect, three separate panels—the entire load for the house—were all being fed by one single 100A main breaker. Even crazier? One of those panels was only rated for 70A max, but they had 100 amps available to flow through it with zero protection. This is exactly how wires get hot and homes catch fire.

We say it all the time, but this is why High Peaks Electric always pulls permits and pushes for inspections. 🧤⚡️ This kind of work is dangerous s**t just waiting for an excuse to melt down. James and Kris spent the day undoing decades of "good enough" wiring to make this right. It’s a lot of manual labor, but the crew doesn't leave until the system is safe, tied down, and done correctly. It’s the only way we work.

We are going to try to catch our breath this weekend and spend some time with the family. We are booked up through Monday, but have openings starting Tuesday and Wednesday next week if your own home is struggling with some "mystery" wiring.

Have a safe weekend, Security-Widefield! Thanks for trusting High Peaks Electric LLC

05/07/2026

It’s Thursday, which is usually when the "small" electrical problems people ignored on Monday start becoming "big" problems they can't ignore anymore.

Kris and I have been all over the Springs, Widefield, and Fountain this week, and we’ve noticed a trend: The Warm Outlet. 🔌🔥

If you unplug a cord and the prongs feel hot, or if the wall plate itself feels warm to the touch—that isn't "normal." Usually, it’s a sign of a loose connection or a circuit that is being pushed way past its limit. It’s your home’s way of waving a red flag before something actually starts to melt.

Mid-Week Update:
We’re wrapping up a few projects today, but we’ve got openings for Friday and a couple of spots left for this weekend, so give us a shout if you’re dealing with:

Outlets that feel warm or look discolored.

That one breaker that trips every time the AC and the TV are on.

Lights that flicker when the neighbor’s house even looks at a microwave.

The "handyman" repair from three years ago that finally gave up.

Don't spend your weekend in the dark. We’re local, we’re licensed, and we’ll get it sorted so you can actually relax. 🛠️⚡️

New week, same hustle. 🏔️🦾

Happy Tuesday, Front Range! While most people are just getting their first cup of coffee, Kris and James are already out in the field.

We’ve seen a lot of "tired" electrical systems lately in Colorado Springs and Fountain. Monday is usually the day when people realize their home’s 1950s wiring really can’t keep up with their 2026 lifestyle—especially when the home office, the kitchen appliances, and the AC all try to kick on at once. 📉🔥

What we’re tackling this week:
We’re finishing up some heavy lifting today, but we are officially opening up the schedule for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you noticed some "flickers" or "buzzing" over the weekend, don’t wait for it to become an emergency.

We specialize in:
✅ Fixing "handyman" messes
✅ Panel safety audits
✅ Dedicated circuits (for that new appliance or home office)
✅ Troubleshooting the "mystery" trips
Give High Peaks Electric LLC a call or shoot us a message. We’re local, we’re licensed, and we don’t leave until it’s right. 🧤⚡️
