Just wanted to take a minute to express general gratitude about this industry's leaders.

Sometimes it feels like we live in a dystopian / purely capitalistic society where we're all pitted against each other. But gratefully, this industry is instead a collaborative network of like-minded individuals and teams of people focused on the same goals.

Important goals. Life or Death type of goals.

So shoutout to the other leaders and new additions to NEOhio's army of Native Plant Advocates.

Don't know these πŸ‘‡πŸΌpeople? Well you should!

Scientists are wary of glyphosate. MAHA loathes it. And our investigation shows California is spraying it everywhere.

Planting Time 🌿 has begun!

Organizing large installation of native plants has its challenges. We purchase from up to 12 different growers over NEOhio & beyond. From coordinating species, pickup, care and organization of orders we're full speed ahead making use of every moment.

We received our last shipment of plants this week which means it's planting time! ⏰

Waiting for us this month? We're coming!

To reverse course in our environmental care of the Earth is a mountainous, overwhelming task. What is not difficult, is treating the land beneath our feet : our yards : more gently.

How can we do this?

🌱 Quit Fertilizing Your Lawn
πŸ”† Replace some Lawn to provide Habitat w/Native Plants
🌼 Use Plants as Solutions
πŸ’§ Be water wise: No need for sprinklers or watering with plants that grew up in this environment
πŸ” Scrutizine your purchases: Shop Local, Whenever Possible
πŸ‘οΈ Remove Invasives such as Barberry & Burning Bush
πŸ—‘οΈ Don't just Pick Up Trash Today, pick up trash EVERYday and make a plan to be better environmental stewards of Mother Earth.

Celandine Poppy. Stylophorum diphyllum.

Not to be confused with the vErY invasive Lesser Celandine. Celandine Poppy makes a wonderful ground cover in shady areas. The flowers are a gorgeous cheery yellow and the seedpods charm with their uniqueness. Standing just 24" tall they make a wonderful addition to any residential yard.

Battle pachysandra with this gorgeous eager native.

Our Choices Matter.

The first slide is the highly invasive Callery Pear that is no longer allowed to be sold in Ohio, Pennsylvania & South Carolina. If you drive around during this time you can see just how problematic this tree has been.

The second slide is the gorgeous native Serviceberry. An attractive four season tree producing berries for many different types of birds.

This year when deciding what to plant, just choose native.
