Figured I'd make this post to show people what really happens in the background. We've had a good handful of people during the January storm speak some unhappiness to us and tell us that our pricing is getting to expensive. This is just 1 little look at what happens that isn't seen by customers.
During that storm myself alone worked more than 2 34 hour plus shifts and multiple 24s. Slept a total of 14 hours over the course of 6 days. This isn't including some of our other operators and sidewalk guys that put in multiple 24 and 16hr shifts. All done while trying to coordinate guys, material and equipment. I do apologize for the delay in texts or phone calls as alot happens during these storms and we are all running around like crazy trying to keep up with the storm, respond to texts and phone calls, pay attention to obstructions around us, and keep the energy up enough to keep pushing thru.
This is a video of the plow that is on my truck that does our commerical route and some of our residential. Tonight is Saturday Feb 15th at 6:45pm and we have already started our prep work for the storm that is moving in Monday night into Wednesday morning. We work very hard behind the scenes fixing equipment, doing maintenance on trucks, prepping 4 wheelers and getting material together. Sometimes this is done for multiple days before a storm and this is all work that makes us 0$ and can't be charged to anybody This plow is getting over 1500$ worth of parts installed tonight and another 2 hrs worth of welding to get us back up and going. This is one of the small processes we do before and after storms to ensure we have good working equipment when we come to your property. When you see us at your property for 15 minutes or over 4 hours, just remember all this work done behind the scenes.
Now I don't want people to take this post as a hate post cause it by no means is meant for that. Instead this is used to educate our customers and show people that alot of work is done behind closed doors or late at night to make what we do happen. Your not just paying for us to come show up and scrap snow off your driveway and throw down some calcium, however you are also paying for the countless hours that we put in to make all this run well. Another thing to add is that experience in the business with over 12+ yrs in this field is worth something.
So next time you look at your price and see a 75$ plow bill please think of all the blood sweat and tears that go into this work. Both myself and my guys try to do our best every storm and push thru what we are given. We work day and night, holidays, when we are sick, happy, sad, etc. We go out in the elements when others stay sheltered up inside. We have neighbors, and random strangers come out and cuss us out late at night for making noise, or not parking in the best of spots. This work is more than just a physical game but also a mental game in the grand scheme of things.
Again I don't want this post to offend people or be viewed as an insult. We appreciate each and every one of our customers as if it wasent for you we wouldn't be where we are today. Again we thank you for trusting us with your properties and look forward to working with you. As always if you ever have questions or concerns give me a call or shoot me a text at 618-978-7812. We cannot correct mistakes and make things better if we are unaware of the issue.
