I tend to avoid taking my photo these days, i wish i was better at it😅
Even when i was a small child my parents had to fight to take my photo, i guess some things never change🤷
Im still in shock that ive managed to paint a mural so large, and im so proud of myself for completing it. Saying i was intimidated is an understatement. But we will never know what we can achieve if we dont try🖤
Roughly 30 hours, five different paint brushes, about a million mosquito bites, 8 jugs of paint, one silly meltdown, and a hell of a lot of spite- its done✨

The absolutely beautiful blue grosbeak❤️
Im going to be honest, i had no idea there was such thing. For the last few years as a birder i have hoped to come across the lovely rose breasted grosbeak (i have yet to lay my eyes on one) and i truly never thought id get lucky enough to see a grosbeak that isnt usually common in my area. I am forever grateful to the lovely Matt and Christie for sharing their photographs of the amazing birds spotted in our area, ofherwise i might have missed him! My partner and i spent an hour watching him and his mate bounce around a meadow together. It was darling 🖤

A little project ive had in my head for months now. I came across this little deer figurine last year. It was so cute and had so much potential:) after taking some time to repaint, and clean up it sat on a shelf in my studio for a year waiting to be used😅
Finally i had some time to get back to my curio shadowbox making!

For a while now i have been working on learning the ropes of landscape painting. Particularly the dusty, kind of dark moody landscapes that focus on open fields and trees. I think maybe my deep love for ohio farmland where I grew up is showing🖤
Im also still working on trying to make goauche work like or at least look like the oil paintings i admire so much. I feel like im getting closer:)) and the biggest thing ive learned while working in these landscapes is- less is more?? Im always trying to add too much detail but really, your shapes, shadows, and highlights should be doing all of the work for you. I love that even after almost 10 years of painting im still learning. Changing my methods, experimenting with materials and imagery. I finally feel like im becoming the painter ive always wanted to be🥹
With all of that said, im obsessed with this painting. Im so proud of myself and this piece feels so dear to my heart. Im definitely going to be a little sad when it finds a home, but that just means i can make more landscapes like it🖤

Good morning friends✨My shared shop Undergroundlost&found and myself have some extra pop up events coming up!
Next week ill be setting up solo at the Westerville fourth friday festival:) fingers crossed its rain free this time✨
Also my partner and i with our shop Undergroundlost&found will be setting up at the bexley summerfest for the second year in a row! We are so excited to be back:) and as always we will be at the lovely German Village Farmers Market every saturday. Come see us friends!

Finally, after a few days i have power again, yay!✨ For any non local folks, my city got hit pretty bad on tuesday with some severe weather without warning. We lost power for a few days and our city is definitely still dealing with the chaos that ensued. On top of sotting in the dark i have been wicked sick since monday- so making has been pretty much out if the question all week. Im on the mend and past being contagious but the energy levels are still pretty low🥲
BUT i finally got around to editing photos of my newest block prints:)
From left to right- Downy Woodpecker Feather, Spring Peeper, Leopard slug, crow feather~
All of these will be available in my shop by this weekend as well as in person at the German Village Farmers Market ✨❤️

FINALLY 😭
I have officially updated my online shop🕺 For a while there it was getting hard to keep track of my in person inventory and online inventory sonce i set up a booth every weekend. Along with working on a mural, doing floral work and just everyday life stuff my website definitely fell to the bottom of my "to-do" list. With all of that said there are now 12 new original paintings listed, along with over 15 originals, prints, and curios marked on super sale to make room for my next online update:) sale prices are already marked so no coupin code needed✨
