Volume UP! ⬆️ 😄 Getting the “money maker running!” 💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

When lightning takes out a critical motor, our team doesn’t blink!

A regional chip mill took a direct lightning strike, damaging a winding in their large chipper motor — the kind of failure that usually means weeks of downtime waiting on a rewind.

Our Field Service team had a better idea: isolate the failed coil on-site and get the motor running again on a temporary basis, buying the mill time to schedule a proper rewind instead of shutting down.

That’s old-school field craft — and it’s becoming a lost art. It’s also exactly why customers call us when it’s a critical day.

Turn the volume up to hear the mill worker who couldn’t hide his excitement when the motor fired back up — he told our tech he “just wanted to encourage the money maker to run.” 😂

Proud of this problem solving team for thinking on their feet and getting a customer back online fast!

Headline: April Momentum at the Repair Center ⚡
As April winds down, our floor is packed with heavy-duty 4KV and 13KV motors moving through the shop. (The view through that stator in the first photo gives you a real sense of the scale we’re working with!)
When we expanded our facility last year, we did it with these exact assets in mind. The extra square footage has been a game-changer—giving our team the room they need to maintain precision while keeping turnaround times aggressive.

From all of the family, friends, and the Burford team, we sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have experienced this past week as we mourned the loss of Mr. Ken Robinson. We were touched by the flowers sent, calls made, text messages and cards we received. Mr. Ken’s memorial Friday was a beautiful celebration of his life, and we were so blessed to have so many friends travel many miles to share personally what he meant to them. In this sad time, that is the silver lining.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Ken Robinson:
Visitation will be this Friday, April 10th at 10 am at Lowndes Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 11 am, with graveside service for family at Memorial Gardens immediately following. Pastor Kenny Gardner will be officiating.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. They mean the world to the family during this time.
