Project Progress | Riverside Hospital Columbus, Ohio

Some impressive work is taking shape at our Riverside Hospital project!

As part of the new parking garage construction, George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is constructing approximately 1,500 linear feet of cast-in-place, form-lined concrete wall at the garage entrance. The wall varies in height from approximately 15 feet down to 3 feet, creating a unique and eye-catching feature of the project.

Our concrete team has just begun this portion of the work, and these photos give a great look at the craftsmanship already taking shape.

This past Friday, our summer interns had the opportunity to share with our team what they learned and experienced during their time at George J. Igel & Co., Inc.

For many, this summer was an introduction to the construction industry and a chance to see firsthand the teamwork, planning, problem-solving, and hard work that go into building successful projects. Throughout the summer, they brought great enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn—and that same enthusiasm came through in their presentations. They shared how complicated some things were that looked simple, but how working with people that were interested in their success made all the difference.

We appreciate the time and effort they put into their internships and enjoyed hearing about their experiences and takeaways from the summer. We wish them continued success as they head back to school and take the next steps in their professional careers!

Come to the Ohio State Fair!

Over the past two years, hundreds of George J. Igel & Co., Inc. employees transformed the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds while working around countless events and a firm opening-day deadline.

Together, our construction professionals contributed more than 200,000 man-hours, placing over 25,000 cubic yards of concrete, 50,000 tons of asphalt, and five miles of underground pipe. We built sidewalks, curbs, parking lots, waterlines, storm infrastructure, decorative brick pavers, and even the foundations for the new carousel.

This project showcases the teamwork, craftsmanship, and more than 115 years of experience that define George J. Igel & Co., Inc.
Our employees and their families will walk through for years to come, and remember the effort it took to bring this job to completion.

Building more than projects. Building memories.

This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual Igel Family Fun Day, bringing together our employees, retirees, and their families for an afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship.

From inflatables, touch-a-truck, bumper cars, and face painting to food trucks, Kona Ice, caricatures, and plenty of laughter, it was a great opportunity to step away from the jobsite and spend quality time with the people who make our company what it is.

At Igel, we know our success is built by our people. Family Fun Day is one small way we can say thank you to the employees and families who support us every day.

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this year's event such a success. We hope you made some wonderful memories, and we can't wait to do it again next year!
