HVAC installers are responsible for successfully installing HVAC equipment for Airforce Heating and Air. They are in charge of troubleshooting electrical circuits, pipes, and system components as needed. They replace air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment as needed, as well as test connections for leakage and pressure problems. Among their main responsibilities are installing and connecting thermostats and humidstats using hand tools, as well as verifying correct functioning of residential and business equipment. They must document customer interactions and participate in training sessions to familiarize themselves with new devices and technology. Additionally, HVAC installers must provide excellent customer experiences and establish rapport with customers, as well as read equipment manuals to solve problems. In all tasks, the installer needs to follow operational procedures and confidentiality rules; they also need to follow strict safety standards to prevent accidents. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary for this position. HVAC installers must possess strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain in non-technical language what issues need to be addressed. They must be organized with their inventory and able to multitask in a variety of tasks at a time. Additionally, these professionals need to have an advanced knowledge of HVAC codes and proper application methods, work well on their own with minimal supervision, and perform effectively with other installers to achieve all company goals in a timely manner.
HVAC Installer Tasks
Repair and rebuild complex residential and commercial HVAC and environmental systems and inspecting regularly.
Keep all HVAC and mechanical rooms clean, orderly, and organized.
Calibrate thermostats and ensure appropriate temperatures are maintained.
Install residential and commercial HVAC systems in accordance with manufacturer compliance and company policy
HVAC Installer Requirements
Able to successfully pass a background check
Able to successfully pass a urine drug screen
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving history
Ability to lift up to 100lbs
Ability to work in uncontrolled, unconditioned climates
