Your home should support the way you live, not work against it.

For these Upper Arlington homeowners, that meant creating a more functional kitchen, adding personality with a beautiful powder room, and updating interior spaces and surfaces throughout the first floor.

The result? A home that feels fresh, inviting, and designed around everyday living.

This remodel re-envisioned the functionality of the interior spaces by thoughtfully integrating the existing home with the new addition, creating a seamless flow throughout. Carefully designed transitions connect old and new spaces effortlessly, while expansive openings and cohesive materials extend the living experience outward to the newly imagined outdoor area. The result is a harmonious blend of comfort, style, and practicality—where indoor and outdoor living coexist naturally, offering all the warmth and amenities of the interior while embracing the openness and relaxation of the exterior environment.

Come with us through this recently completed Upper Arlington remodel featuring a kitchen, dining room, family room, laundry room, and powder room.

Not a single detail was overlooked. From bold stone selections and soft metallic fixtures to custom cabinetry designed to make everyday living feel effortless. A curved floor tile detail mirrors the radius of the island, creating a durable and beautiful transition to and from the pool deck.

The powder room showcases a hand-blown Murano glass vessel sink, ombré tile with meticulously executed ombré grout, and feminine lines woven thoughtfully throughout the space.

Lighting functionality was carefully considered throughout the design process, resulting in layered, task-oriented illumination with a subtle aesthetic presence.

Can AI design your Remodel?

Today we received something fascinating from a potential remodeling client: an AI-generated design and scope package for their home project. It was the second AI package we had been emailed in less than a week.

Truth be told, the submission was pretty lovely to look at. The renderings were beautiful and gave real insight into what these folks were after. AI is becoming an incredible tool for homeowners to explore possibilities, communicate style preferences, and start getting ideas from their head into something we can talk about.

But when we looked closer at the drawings, we found major discrepancies between views, missing construction information, and details that simply could not be built or accurately estimated in the real world.
That’s the important distinction people need to understand:
AI can generate inspiration. It cannot yet replace the experience required to coordinate architecture, interior design, engineering, estimating, materials, budgeting, and construction reality.

In remodeling, every decision affects another:
• Rooflines impact ceiling lines
• Structural conditions affect layouts
• Mechanical systems affect feasibility
• Budgets affect scope and detailing

A beautiful rendering is only the beginning.
The real value of experienced design and construction professionals starts with asking the right questions to determine parameters. Then translating ideas into something functional, buildable, code-compliant, and financially realistic.

I believe AI will absolutely become part of the future of remodeling. In fact, we already use AI tools in our business today. But the human expertise behind the process matters more than ever. Because AI can generate things that look real, but can't really be built. And a human being who knows the difference needs to separate the great ideas from useless fancy.

Great design still requires human judgment.
Great remodeling still requires skilled professionals.
