Wondering how many people would like to have a nice lawn? This isn’t a trick question. Old habits I see daily would have to be changed. If you’re interested “like” this message. Otherwise I won’t waste my time.

Two things about creating and maintaining a beautiful lawn.....the absolute best thing you can do yearly is aerate. This is vital to your lawns health. Conversely, the absolute worst thing you can do is drive on it. You can do a tremendous amount of damage by parking and or driving on your lawn. Reversing the damage is difficult.

Not many shrubs can match the beauty in the Fall of the burning bush. In the last couple of weeks burning bushes have turned on their color. Although they aren't evergreen type shrubs (they lose their leafs) they deserve a place in your landscape. Easy to grow and can be allowed to grow naturally or can also be trimmed to look great. If you're planning on some landscaping changes please keep this plant in mind. Good time if you hurry to drive around and enjoy the beauty of this shrub. I can help you find a place on your property to add one or several.

Here's a heads up. Those that battle bag worms on your evergreens like cedar and juniper. They have arrived. I've seen very small cocoons today. Not to be confused with web worms. These suckers invade your evergreens and destroy the foliage while making a cocoon. Now is the time to spray for them while they are small. Let them go and they get big and harder to kill. They can obliterate a shrub in no time. Be smart and check your plants. They are very small right now. Look closely. One application treatment done properly and you should be done with them.
