Here we go again! Why is this the best and only way to terminate high tensile barb wire?
1. The over, under, over and 2 tight wraps provides the necessary force to prevent wire from moving at the knot.
2. The knot is in the center of the pot right from the beginning its going to adjust there
anyway so you might as well put it there.
2.5 (cause i dont want to renumber) this knot will not slack by slipping close to the post, the force from the post spreading the wire apart counters the wire pulling tighter and it will stay right there.
1. We dont double wrap there is no added
benefit to it. And creates more places for
stuff to collect hold water and rust the
wire. Realistically a fence that we have put
up will not need stretched in the first space we use, it will not need restretched unless the wire is cut.
4. We use premium bull barn american made high tensile fence wire. It is as close to perfect as i have found. The barbs are 4 inch spaced near perfectly, we use 4 point for more barbs they are long, they are sharp and they dont bend. This wire is the perfect balance of tensile strength and give. It features a reverse twist that allows the wire
to absorb impact well and rebound
afterwards.
5. If you say high tensile wire is brittle you probably had a lower quality high tensile in a 15.5 gauge or a cheaper 14 gauge, and it was probably overpulled in istallation so it was not able to flex and absorb impact high tensile barb wire should not be "killed" to get all the stretch out. Ht barb has 1-2 % stretch vs low carbon with 12-15% stretch.
6. We use a premium eztwist clip on all our posts this clip fully wraps the post so that the wire cannot come off the post. Impact to the back side of the t post wont pop the clip off. Because of these clips if the wire is cut between posts the only loose section will be fixable by splicing at the break.. fully eliminating the need to pull wire from a brace.
7. My post driver give me a feel for the soil conditions i can tell how much pipe is needed to prevent the brace from moving. We are not afraid to weld on more pipe to go deeper to keep your fence tight.
Our rance brace has a full stick of pipe in it. The angle is low and long so the king post cant uplift. The welded joints prevent hinging like a bolt does, this prevents uplift on the king post.
When you buy a fence from us you are getting a system that looks different than what you are used to, but it is proven time and time again, almost noone other than the United States of America uses low carbon wire. High Tensile is not new it is proven technology. Im not reinventing the wheel, i just switched from bias tires to radials.
Most of my fence knowledge, methods come in a round about way from New Zealand where I understand fence is a licensed trade just like electricians. Fence is serious there. So a "tidy knot" from a kiwi fencer is a huge compliment.
Contact us today we will get you a estimate for a fence system that will lower the amount of time you spend repairing fence, lower the risk of your cows getting out, these two factors improve your bottom line and allow you to spend time doing what really matters.
