Fiona’s Spanish Revival Kitchen!
It was very important to this homeowner that their new kitchen felt consistent with the existing style of their home. Because the space was small, finding a way to introduce patterns and details in a way that wasn’t overly busy was crucial to the success of the design. The backsplash tile, a handmade orange clay tile with a minimal pattern, really steered the aesthetic direction. A putty color was chosen for the cabinets with a countertop in the same tonal family, while the wall behind the sink was painted to match the tile, to keep the palette simple. A boxy, dimensional crown was added to the upper cabinets to support the clean lines made by the inset shaker-style
doors and slab drawer fronts.
