Reality ā”ļø render ā”ļø before āØ
A little creativity, a lot of planning, and some strategic space stealing. (Donāt worry, itās perfectly legal. š)
Every kitchen I design starts the same way: getting to know my clients, how they live, what they need, and what they wish their space could be.
Then comes the measuring, photographing, studying the geometry, understanding the flow, and figuring out how to make every possible inch work harder. Because a beautiful kitchen is wonderful, but a beautiful kitchen that actually functions? Thatās where the magic happens.
For this particular kitchen, I did a little architectural borrowing.
We took over two existing closets, including one along an exterior wall, to recess the refrigerator and create over TWO additional feet of pantry and refrigeration space!
That one decision completely changed what was possible. It allowed us to create a gorgeous, extra-long island while maintaining a full run of cabinetry along the window wall.
I also carefully specified the placement of the new windows while keeping the sink in its original location. With a brick exterior that wasnāt going anywhere, working intelligently within the existing architecture helped minimize unnecessary construction costs.
And then came the pretty stuff! š
Warm wood floors, lighter quarter sawn white oak accents, and that gorgeous blue-green island that adds just enough personality without sacrificing timelessness.
Itās classic, inviting, and a little unexpected. Exactly how I like it.
The photorealistic renderings helped my clients visualize the design before construction ever began. And seeing the finished kitchen professionally photographed, looking remarkably like the original vision, is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
Good design isnāt just about choosing beautiful things. Itās about seeing possibilities where other people see walls. Or, in my case, closets that are just begging to be evicted. š
