How to Maintain Your Grass in Extreme Heat

●Don’t cut your grass too short (One-Third Rule-Never cut off more than one-third of grass at a time).

● Don’t over water your grass-This does not allow the soil to get enough oxygen because it is too wet.

● Keep your mowing blades sharp-Dull blades harm grass instead of cutting it precisely.

● Don’t bag the clippings-The clippings help protect your grass' roots from the extreme heat and holds in more moisture.

● Keep the grass healthy all year long-When it gets to summer the grass is healthy and strong which helps protect it from the sun.🌞

DPL recommendations to help your lawn look its best!

*Water in the mornings
*To thicken your lawn spread seed over existing lawn to prevent w**d growth
*Always mow with a sharp blade
*Leave the grass clippings behind because as they decompose and give off valuable organic matter to the soil
*Do not give your grass too much fertilizer. Always follow the directions on the label to avoid over feeding your grass.
*Add compost to improve your soil.
