What if one of the largest rooms in your home still felt too small?

That was the challenge behind this primary bathroom renovation. Despite its generous footprint, the original layout felt cramped, disconnected, and lacked the storage and functionality the homeowners needed for everyday life.

By completely reimagining the space, we transformed it into a bright, spa-inspired retreat featuring a luxurious wet-room design, expanded storage solutions, improved flow, and thoughtful details tailored specifically to the homeowners' lifestyle.

From custom craftsmanship and creative problem-solving to a few unexpected surprises uncovered during construction, this project is a perfect example of how great design goes far beyond selecting beautiful finishes.

Next week, we'll be sharing the full story behind this transformation—including before photos, layout changes, behind-the-scenes challenges, and the details that brought this custom bathroom to life.

✨ Sneak Peek: The Everleigh Bathroom Remodel ✨

What happens when a homeowner returns from a luxury vacation and wants to bring that same spa-like experience home?

For this primary bathroom remodel, the existing layout worked well—it just needed a fresh perspective. By replacing builder-grade finishes with thoughtfully selected materials and elevating key features throughout the space, we transformed the room into a serene retreat designed for everyday relaxation.

Highlights include:
▫️ Cambria Everleigh quartz on the vanity and in the shower
▫️ Custom Fabuwood cabinetry
▫️ Champagne gold fixtures and hardware
▫️ An enlarged shower featuring body sprayers inspired by a memorable luxury hotel stay
▫️ A freestanding tub replacing the original built-in

Lead Designer Paige describes this space as "serene and spa-like," and we couldn't agree more. Every detail was selected to create a calm, elevated atmosphere while maintaining the functionality our homeowner already loved.

🎥 Take a walk through the space with Paige, and stay tuned for the full photo reveal coming soon—including the before-and-after transformation!

The final reveal from our Brickstone Circle remodel ✨

Designed as a retreat within the home, this basement bathroom embraces a richer, more dramatic palette while maintaining a clean and inviting feel. Deep charcoal cabinetry, mixed metal finishes, and a striking chevron mosaic shower create a space that feels sophisticated, functional, and full of personality.

One of our favorite parts of this project was seeing how each space was able to tell its own story. While the upstairs bathroom embraced a lighter, softer aesthetic, this basement bath took a completely different approach—proving that great design isn't about repeating the same look throughout a home, but creating spaces that feel right for how they're used.

Thank you to our wonderful clients for trusting us to bring their vision to life. We're so excited to finally share the completed Brickstone Circle project with you all!

Two kitchen remodel quotes can be $20,000... $50,000... even $100,000 apart.

And often, they're not actually pricing the same project.

One proposal may include:
✔️ Semi-custom cabinetry
✔️ Demolition & debris removal
✔️ Permits
✔️ Tile to the ceiling
✔️ Electrical updates

While another may not.

This is why comparing remodeling estimates can sometimes feel like comparing apples to avocados. 🥑

The traditional "get three bids and pick the middle one" approach was built around a time when homeowners had fewer design decisions to make upfront. Today, remodeling projects involve hundreds of choices that directly affect cost.

When plans, selections, and expectations aren't clearly defined before pricing, contractors are forced to make assumptions. And assumptions are often where change orders, delays, and budget surprises begin.

A design-build process works differently.

By developing the design, scope, selections, and budget together from the beginning, everyone is pricing the same project—not their best guess of it.

The result?
✔️ Fewer surprises
✔️ More accurate budgets
✔️ Faster decision-making
✔️ A smoother remodeling experience

The goal isn't finding the cheapest number.

It's understanding exactly what you're investing in.

Not every client comes to us excited.
Some come to us cautious.

We’ve worked with homeowners who had difficult experiences during past remodels—poor communication, unmet expectations, or feeling unsupported throughout the process.

By the time they reached out to us, trust wasn’t something they could give easily anymore.

One client asked if they could speak directly with past MUSE clients before moving forward.

And the answer was absolutely.

A few of our previous clients were kind enough to open their homes, share their experiences honestly, and talk through what the process with our team was really like from start to finish.

That meant a lot to us.

Because trust isn’t built through polished photos alone.
It’s built through consistency, transparency, and how people feel working with you long after the project is complete.

This basement bathroom is the final space in the Brickstone Circle project—and it couldn’t be more different from the daughter’s bathroom upstairs.

Where that space was soft, light, and layered with warmth, this one was designed with a more grounded, moody direction in mind—leaning into a space that feels slightly more “man cave” in character, while still remaining bright, balanced, and comfortable to use.

Early in the process, there were concerns that a darker palette might make the space feel too heavy. But with the right balance of materials, lighting, and contrast, it became exactly the opposite.

The cabinetry sets the tone immediately—deep charcoal finishes anchoring the space and creating a strong foundation, compared to the softer dove cabinetry used in the daughter’s bathroom upstairs.

That contrast continues in the material palette. Brushed nickel and black fixtures define this space, while the shower features the bold patterning of the Elizabeth Sutton Meta Malibu Mixed Metallic 2x5 Chevron Glossy Glass Mosaic Tile—a cooler, more graphic counterpart to the warmer gold and pink tones found upstairs.

Two bathrooms. Same home. Completely different expressions of style—but both rooted in the same goal: creating spaces that feel intentional, functional, and tailored to how each part of the home is used.

This is what thoughtful design looks like when it adapts to context instead of repeating a formula.

The full reveal of the Brickstone Circle daughter’s bathroom ✨

Designing for a pr***en can be tricky — you want the space to feel fun and personal now without creating something they’ll outgrow in just a few years. The goal here was “girly girl,” but in a way that still felt elevated, timeless, and layered.

The combination of the J&K Dove cabinetry, Miami Oro countertops, warm rose gold accents, and the Anthropologie wallpaper gave this bathroom personality without making it feel overly trendy. And the shower? Easily one of the standout moments of the entire project.

We paired the Elizabeth Sutton Meta Rio Rose Gold Chevron accent tile with oversized Marmo Perfetto Crema Beige wall tile to keep the space feeling bright, soft, and easier to maintain with fewer grout lines. Even the flooring selections were intentional — from the Starcastle Comet mini hex shower floor to the Rhyme Ivory Staccato main floor tile — every detail was selected to make the room feel cohesive from corner to corner.

And somehow one of our favorite features wasn’t even part of the original plan. The custom quartz apron-front sink detail came from an unexpected installation issue and ended up looking like one of the most custom moments in the space.

A bathroom designed to grow with her for years to come 💕

More and more homeowners are choosing to remove the microwave above their range, and honestly, once you see the alternatives, it makes sense.

Here are 3 reasons our clients are making the switch to microwave drawers:

1️⃣ Cleaner kitchen design
Removing the upper microwave opens up the space visually and allows for a more custom hood feature, uninterrupted backsplash tile, and an overall more elevated look.

2️⃣ More usable countertop space
No bulky microwave sitting on the counters means less clutter and more room for everyday kitchen use.

3️⃣ Better functionality
Microwave drawers are easier to access, create a smoother workflow in the kitchen, and are often more comfortable for everyday use than reaching overhead.

Would you keep the traditional microwave above the range, or would you make the switch? 👀

Sometimes the best design decisions come from solving the “how are we even going to make this work?” moments. 👀

This client had her heart set on a freestanding tub, but her home was built on a slab foundation — meaning relocating the drain wasn’t as simple as going underneath the house. Instead of tearing into the slab, we built a custom platform for the tub to sit on, allowing us to move the plumbing while keeping the space clean, functional, and intentional.

Even better? The platform lines up perfectly with the shower pan so it feels completely cohesive instead of like an afterthought. We also created a ledge that stretches across the back of the tub and shower for the deck-mounted tub filler, while doubling as the perfect spot for soaps, candles, or a glass of wine during a soak. ✨

Good remodeling isn’t just about making things look pretty — it’s about creative problem solving that makes the design work for the home and the homeowner.

This bathroom was designed with longevity in mind—creating a space that feels timeless now, but will still grow with the homeowner’s pr***en daughter in the years ahead.

In this walkthrough, Paige highlights the design decisions that shaped the space from both a functional and aesthetic standpoint.

In the shower, the star of the space is the bold, patterned tile from Elizabeth Sutton Meta Rio Rose Gold Chevron Mosaic Tile—paired with a large-format surrounding tile to reduce grout lines and make cleaning significantly easier over time.

The shower itself was designed for comfort and flexibility, featuring a combined rain head, hand shower, and fixed head system that delivers a luxury experience in a more cost-conscious way. The toilet is also tucked behind a pocket door along with the shower, creating added privacy and a more functional layout for everyday use.

At the vanity, the wallpaper becomes the focal point—an Anthropologie design that had long been on Paige’s design bucket list and finally found its place in this project!

One of our favorite moments in this space came unexpectedly. The original plan used kitchen base cabinets flanking the sink with a vanity cabinet at the center. Once installed, we realized the vanity cabinet height didn’t align as expected.

Rather than starting over, we worked with the homeowners to adapt—and added a custom apron front detail to the sink using the same quartz as the countertop.

What started as a correction turned into one of the most eye-catching details in the room. A reminder that sometimes the best design moments aren’t planned—they’re solved!
