Earlier this season our crew took on the task of replacing the cedar shake roof and repairs on the supports of the kiosk at Frank Lyman Park in Pittsfield. The canopy was originally installed in 2000 and marks the starting point of the Historic Trail through Pittsfield. The Pittsfield Historical Society wrote about the restoration work and details the history of the site in their last quarterly newsletter. Community involvement is essential to our team and this was a perfect example of how we can support the communities in which we live.

At the conclusion of a project we always schedule a post project walkthrough with the client to discuss not only how they feel about the result, but also feedback on the process itself. Our team is always looking for ways to improve any aspect of our business whether it is on-site procedures, client satisfaction, scheduling, or trade partner interactions. We believe the best way to gather that information is direct communication, so on a recently completed exterior remodel our Project Manager met with the client and will bring that feedback to the team so we can continue to strive to deliver a great project experience that fosters lasting relationships.

We recently had the pleasure of designing and remodeling a master closet and bath in a home in Concord. During the design phase we were able to identify that these clients would like a larger shower so our designer reconfigured the footprint of the closet to allow for that extra space in the bath. Design selections that included quartz countertops for the vanity, a decorative accent tile in the shower, custom cabinetry in both the bath and closet, and brushed bronze fixtures to tie in the accent colors of the decorative tile all contributed to creating a more inviting and updated space. For the redefined closet space, our team sat down and discussed the storage needs for our client to make the most of both the vertical and horizontal area available. A consistent flow of communication and attention to detail from both our team and the client made this project a success.

We at Wardell & Harper feel as though maintaining lasting relationships is just as important as building and creating new or updated spaces for our clients. The goal for this project in North Sutton (for a repeat client) was to renovate the 3-season porch entrance to the house and the guest bath. The porch was stripped down and rebuilt with new flooring, windows to replace screened openings, and a custom bench. The bathroom improvements include a tile shower, stone countertops, modern cabinetry, and updated fixtures thus creating a light, fresh look.

We recently completed a full dormer addition that gave our design team the opportunity to create a primary bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower, a laundry closet with storage, a laundry folding station, and a guest bathroom. In a venerable house such as this, our crew gains satisfaction in remodeling the space while understanding how to maintain the integrity of the structure.

When returning clients start to feel like family, then the end of the project becomes bittersweet. Our clients in North Sutton reached out to have us remodel a bathroom and a 3-season porch and we enjoyed working with them every step of the way. Custom cabinetry, a tiled shower, and a marble countertop gave the bath an elevated look while the color selections kept the smaller space looking bright and inviting.

When previous clients reached out to schedule with us for their kitchen/bath/mudroom remodel in Concord, we jumped at the chance to work with them again. The project also included updating the fireplace and installing a custom built-in shelving unit. We are always honored when clients reach back out to plan a second (or a third) project with us.

At a 3-season porch/bathroom project in N. Sutton, work has progressed to cabinetry and tile install in the bathroom (with a small backsplash also installed behind the kitchen range), while the 3-season porch walls are outfitted with v-groove lifespan pine and the ceiling is finished with nickel gap pine.

Last week we began a master bath/walk-in closet remodel project in Concord. Our team came in and started the process by protecting floors and creating partitions to keep as much dust and construction debris away from the areas not included in the project scope. Throughout the process the team will assess whether or not the floor protection and partitions need to be replaced or adjusted especially before particularly messy stages such as drywall and after major demo.
