Out of the Tool Lab and into the field. 🛠️⚡
We spent some quality time putting STIHL Inc. cut-off saws, diamond wheels, and battery platforms to the test. Clean cuts, less vibration, and cutting down that brutal job site blade screech—there’s a lot to dissect here.
Stay tuned to ConcordCarpenter.com for our full performance recap and head-to-head analysis.

Less screech, more cut 🔇🧱
Standard diamond blades turn into screaming tuning forks on the job. The STIHL D-SB80N Premium features a built-in noise-dampening core that slashes high-frequency blade whine—without sacrificing cutting speed or durability.
• Reduced-Noise Core: Absorbs harsh resonance on residential & commercial sites
• Heavy-Duty Power: Slices reinforced concrete, brick, block, and granite
• Sizes In Stock: 9” (230 mm) & 12” (300 mm)
• Fitment: Ready for STIHL TSA cut-off machines & heavy-duty grinders

STIHL stepped into the battery-powered commercial ring with the RZA 700 (sit-on) and AZA 700 (stand-on), and these rigs are built like absolute tanks for full-day commercial crews.
Here’s the job-site breakdown:
• The Powerplant: A massive 24 kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) pack delivering up to 8 hours (around 21 acres) of real runtime. LiFePO4 runs safer, handles heat, and offers ~2,000 charge cycles.
• Zero Belts, Zero Pulleys: True direct-drive brushless motors on both the drive wheels and each individual blade. No belts to snap or slip in wet, heavy grass.
• Heavy-Duty Decks: Available in 48”, 52”, and 60” sizes made from burly 7-gauge fabricated steel reinforced for curbing and roots.
• Speed & Handling: Reaches up to 16 mph forward—faster than a lot of gas rigs—so you can knock out acreage fast.
• Job-Site Details: Full mechanical suspension high-back seat, glove-friendly color LCD touchscreen, auto-parking brake, and front/rear electric take-off (ETO) ports to power sprayers and spreaders right off the main pack.
At around 1,550 lbs and starting north of $26K, they aren’t light on weight or price—but for pro outfits wanting zero fumes, low noise, and virtually no maintenance, STIHL brought serious commercial iron.
Would you run battery on your commercial trailers yet, or are you sticking with gas? .

When you make a living with your tools, runtime, heat management, and durability aren’t just bullet points on a spec sheet—they’re productivity and profit.

Here is what we’ll be testing:

    •    Tabless Cells: Built to stay cooler under hard, continuous cuts to avoid thermal shutdown.
    •    Consistent Output: Full RPM from the first cut to empty—no sluggish power drop-off.
    •    Weather Resistance: IPX4 rating designed to handle damp conditions, rain, and job-site grit.
    •    Turnaround Time: Less internal heat means faster charging without waiting on cool-down cycles.
    •    System Fit: Works directly with all the STIHL AP commercial tools already in the fleet.
Initial build looks rugged.

Stay tuned for more Stihl coverage as we start testing these tools on our job sites

Are you running battery power on your daily setup yet, or still sticking with gas?

New tool day on the jobsite.
We’ve got the crew running the Senco FN71T1 3 ½” pneumatic coil framing nailer today, tacking off wall sheathing.
First impressions: balanced in the hands, drives clean, and carrying a coil beats constantly reloading stick nails when you’ve got a long run of ply to hang.
We’ll put some serious miles on it over the next couple of weeks and report back with the real-deal field review.
Are you team coil or team stick for framing and sheathing? Let’s hear it in the comments. 🔨
